Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

“Yes” to car rides, cats, and other people! I’m Maddie, a 2-year-old, 88 lb. girl whose mom is a GPRA alumna. Apparently, my owner is now allergic to dogs so I’m hoping to have mom’s good luck finding my new home. This should be pretty easy since I’m crate and housetrained (will use potty pads), great with cats and other dogs, and love my toys to pieces. Fireworks scare me and sometimes I jump on people when I’m too excited to keep my paws on the ground. Oh, and I’ll help you learn to make your bed because if you don’t, I might chew the loose sheets and blankets. Of course, my mom never used that bitter apple spray stuff, either. I’d def be willing to trade learning not to chase bedsheets for an actual bed with a human snuggle buddy. Please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below if you want to meet for a test hug.

Did I hear you say you’re looking for a 1-year-old, 91 lb. male Pyr to steal your heart? Here I am! My family calls me George and I know they love me because they asked GPRA to find me the perfect match for a new home. After saving me from a shelter four months ago, we’ve learned I’m a regal old soul who walks well on a leash, loves brushings, car rides, and the canine ladies. I’m not so fond of other male dogs and the younger kids I live with now make me a little nervous. I also need time to warm up to strangers and sometimes I’m a bit protective of those glorious table scraps. No need to spend money on dog toys, I’d rather hang out with my people than make plastic things squeak. Want to hang out, see if I’m the George you’ve been searching for? Yeah? Great! I am Bella C. and I am only six years old and 91 lbs, so you will have a lot of time to pet me if we live together! Yes, I adore attention and I walk right up to adults, kids, dogs, cats, and I might even try saying hello to a squirrel if the timing is right. I did not like being an outside dog so I am learning to do inside dog stuff like walk well on a leash, come when called, and stay inside the fence. I have three more things on my To Do list: always potty outside, grow back my stunning white coat (look at the other picture!) and find a safe, warm, happy place to live. GPRA says they will help, especially with that last part.  So, I will cross my paws for luck that maybe you will email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click the “Apply to Adopt” button.

Hey y’all, I am Caleb. I am a laid back fella about 6 years old and 91 lbs. I am super laid back and am loving being loved. I came from the county shelter after I’d been wandering around on my own for a while. Life wandering is rough so a little pampering will get me looking and feeling fabulous. I know house manners and just love being with my people. I am great at giving hugs and happy to give you a paw. Here I am, smiling and ready to find my fur-ever home. Will you be mine? Just holler at GPRA and let them know I’m your guy at info@greatpyratlanta.com.
