Meet the Marvelous Marley! That’s me! I’m a young pyr pup with a lot of magnificent qualities. One of them is that I’m housetrained. When nature calls, my method to tell you it’s potty-time is to stand by the door. Another magisterial aspect of my personality is that I’m good with my human and canine counterparts. I adore mulling around the house with my family, especially the children. I’m still a puppy, so I understand kids with their playful energy! To work off some of my pyr pup excitement, we can meander about the neighborhood because I’m really good on the leash. Or we can grab a mint mocha together as I’m a great car rider! When the weather is warmer, I’ll even go for a swim, or we can just play with a tennis ball in the backyard. Also, I love to mingle with other dogs; being with my fuzzy brethren is so much fun! Cats, though, are pretty mysterious and kind of scare me a bit, but I still want to sniff them. Probably my most magical trait is how affectionate and loving I am. Once I get to know you, I won’t want to miss a single cuddle! Because my people matter most to me, I’m a very good listener. I’ve already mastered “sit” and “down.” I’m a sweet pyr pup, so I’m still learning about chewing and digging. Any family who adopts me would need to continue basic command training through treats and praise only, please, especially because I’m going to a big boy one day! Think about adopting me today. I know the energy between us will be magnetic!

Hello, human pals! I am the marvelous Murphy, and I am here to tell you all about me [with the help of those who know me]!
“Murphy has a great personality. He is loving and very playful. He is also fantastic with young kids. (Aww, thank you. Yes, I love the smaller humans very much!)
“Murphy loves to be outside (when it’s not too hot or too cold), has always slept inside, sometimes on his bed, often on the hardwood floors. He is very friendly and sweet, loves to meet new people, and is good with visiting dogs.”
“Murphy is typical Pyr when it comes to strangers approaching the house. He will bark and be protective.” (Pyrs are guardians. You can count on me to sound the alarm when I have concerns.)
“Murphy would love to be a lap dog!” (If you need a couch buddy, I am your boy!)
“Murphy will put his head in your lap, nudge your  arm and stare at you when he wants to go outside.”
“Murphy’s best playmate was a 13-pound terrier/dachshund mix. Murphy was very gentle and sweet with her, but he did, at times, play too roughly with our female senior pyr mix. Murphy ignored the cat.  (I love fur-playmates!)
“Murphy does best with specific dog food, and GPRA will tell you which dog food keeps me healthy. However, Murphy cannot have anything with chicken in it.”
“Murphy has never tried to dig under or climb our six-foot, four-board fence with wire but can squeeze through an opening in our gate.” (Although I love to sneak out and run around, be sure to secure the gate and outdoor fences to keep me safe. With additional obedience training, I will do better on my recall, too.)
Just one more thing, if my new family has chickens, I will need help learning that they are off-limits.
GPRA says that a very loving family, a backyard and fur-siblings are out there just for me, and I cannot wait!
Your Pyr-marvelous boy,
❤️❤️ Murphy

Despite what you might think, I am NOT a gourmet ice cream flavor! I could probably stand the calories, though, since I’m only 2.5 years old and a mere 91 lbs. Sorry to repeat things, and I’m truly not plagiarizing my pack mates but…”yes” to dogs and kids, “maybe” to cats, and “never” to lived inside. So, combine needing to learn house manners and my being a playful puppy, I probably need a patient, dog-smart human to help move from the pen to the den. I wish I could share more and win your heart instantly, but this is all I know about me. But, if you please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below, maybe the GPRA humans or my foster can share bunches of cool stuff about me.
