Hellos. I am the sweet Niko Summer. How is your day going?
I have no idea why this happened, but one day I was dropped at a shelter and never saw my family again. I am still sad and heartbroken. However, I’m feeling much better now that GPRA told me that they will find me a loving fur-ever family and not give up on me. WOW, how lucky am I to get a second chance? (High-five Pyr paws to GPRA!)

What else can I share… Well, GPRA’s care team also said that I am a beautiful girl and a perfect lady in the car. (Thank you. I try to be a good girl.)

My leash manners are strong, and I really like other dogs. (Good stuff, right?) As a young girl, I am still learning how to be the very best Pyr I can be. If you are willing to invest the time and patience, I promise to be your loyal and faithful companion forever.

Looking forward to becoming part of your family, greeting you at the door, and welcoming you home.  Niko Summer

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

Well, I know I’m not Buddy the Elf because I’m an 2-year-old, 83 lb. boy dog. But it sure would’ve been fun to travel through seven levels of a milkbone forest or a sea of swirly twirly chew toys while I was roaming around with Thomas H. If you’re a busy person, you’ll love reading my bio because it’s super short. According to my current caretaker, I like strangers, kids, dogs of all sizes, I’m always willing to help you drive and have no idea what a leash is for, other than chewing into small pieces. The end. Well, mostly. I’ll have more to share once I have a GPRA foster but please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below, then I can say, “And we all lived happily ever after. The End”

Hey there! I’m Barney, 1 year, 83 lb boy who shares a name with a famous purple dinosaur and a stone-age cartoon character. Since I’m definitely not purple, and I’ve never met a Flintsone, there’s probably no relation. And now that GPRA has lovingly rescued me from a shelter, I please need a family to help me get to know myself. Listening to other GPRA Pyrs, I think I’d like to try meeting other dogs, snacks, playing with people, regular meals, staying dry during the rain, and helping with anything happening in some room called the kitchen. My new friends tell me it is one of the best places ever, next to a loving and safe home of course. If you’d like to meet me, please email information@greatpyratlanta.com or click the “Apply to Adopt” button below.

Well, hello! I am the super pretty, Aspen T. I am about 2.5 years old and a pyr-fect 83 lbs. I am here with my sister, Willow T. My sister and I had a great life on a farm, hanging with goats and enjoying life. We got the sad news that my humans lost their home and needed to find happy, safe and wonderful homes for Willow and I. We are hoping to start a brand new chapter together and find our fur-ever home. We are great with goats and love being outside. If you need someone to hang out and keep your yard secure we’re your girls. We are both very sweet and loveable. Let GPRA know at info@greatpyratlanta.com!

Hola! My name is Luz Nieve. It means “light snow” in Spanish. I am 10 months old and 83 lbs and arrived at GPRA with my brother Baby. We lived on a really nice farm but didn’t get as much attention as our family wanted so they gave a call to GPRA and here we are! I am very friendly and very very gentle. I haven’t spent time in a house yet so I’m learning all sorts of new things. I am very smart so it won’t take me long at all. I thought riding in the car was lots of fun! I have lots of dog and cat friends and I love people big and small. Do you have room in your heart for a sweet girl like me and my brother Baby?
