My Story

Hi there! I’m Allie, and I’m currently living in a cozy foster home while I wait for my forever family. I’m a sweet girl who’s still adjusting to everything, but I’ve been making great progress!

I’m a bit of a sensitive soul and when it comes to meeting new people, I can be a little shy but I’m working on it!

Even though I’m a little cautious at first, I’m super sweet and calm once I feel safe. I really enjoy my quiet time and love spending some alone time, just relaxing. I’m great with cats and other dogs I’ve met, and I’m not into any kind of destructive behavior—I’m just a laid-back gal looking for a peaceful life.

Overall, I’m a gem, just looking for a calm, understanding home where I can continue to thrive. If you’re looking for a gentle and loving companion, I might just be your girl!

My Story

Hello, friends! My name is Shadow, since I like to follow my human friends around. I was found by a nice lady who took me in until I could get to GPRA. She wanted to keep me, but her dogs didn’t like me. However, I do like other dogs and am generally fine around them. I know basic commands, like “sit” , “down”, “no”. I absolutely adore humans and playing with kids. I’ve also grown fond of car rides. Crates are fine for night time and if my humans are gone. I would love to join your family and be your best friend! If you are interested in a loyal, cuddle-bug, please apply to adopt me.

My Story

Hi, I’m Biscotti! I’m a laid-back guy who loves hanging out with my family and making sure everyone feels safe and loved. I’m best suited for a family that’s home a lot because I’m a big fan of company and prefer to have people around.

I’m good with kids (I love them, honestly!) and I get along well with cats and small dogs. When it comes to larger dogs, I’m happiest as the only dog in the house or with a submissive female.

I’m house-trained, I always ask to go outside by giving a little whine. I’ve got a low energy level, so I’m not one for long, exhausting walks, but I’m happy to go for a short stroll with you! I enjoy car rides, and I can’t resist a good dog toy or chew bone.

I already know the commands: sit, stay, and down! I’m a quick learner, and I love getting praise when I do things right. I’m soft and cuddly, and I love to snuggle up and get pets all day long. Brushing is like getting pets too, so I enjoy being brushed—it’s a win-win!

I’m a little sensitive to loud noises but I’m pretty good at adjusting to my environment. I do like to guard my home, so I’ll bark if something seems off.

If you’re looking for a loyal, easy-going companion to hang out with, I think we’d be a great match!

Good morning, Sunshine! I’m Abner, and my name means “light.” I’ve been told I’m like a ray of sunshine because of my sweet and mellow personality. Right now, I’m like a sunrise, slowly warming up to all the humans I meet. I take time to learn about the people I interact with, and then I can start to trust them. My favorite way to get to know you is by sniffing. Instead of being sun-kissed, you’ll get little nose kisses from me! After a few sniffs, I’ll also take treats gently from you if you place them near me. Treat-giving and sniffing are great ways for us to start bonding. I know that once we develop a closeness, our relationship will be like walking on sunshine! One creature I’ve already learned to trust is my fellow canine. I’m good with other dogs, so it might be nice to have another dog to play with. Basically, I need a family who can be my guiding light, and I will give them all my love and loyalty in return. Help me let the sunshine in and consider adopting me today!

Hi, y’all! My name is Moose. I was a stray until this nice couple rescued and fostered me. My foster Dad says that I’m the sweetest boy! He tells me that I am a love bug because I just want to snuggle and give nose kisses. I’m also great with kids. I have a blast frolicking with my foster’s grandchildren. I’m very chill and get along with other dogs and cats too. My foster family also thinks I’m very special because I’m a pyredoodle! While I may not be pure pyr, I have some key pyr characteristics. I LOVE to wander, so I will need a tall fence to keep me safe. I am house-trained as well and will let you know when I need to go out. Us pyrs are very smart! Overall, though, I’m a very mellow boy that just needs a bit of training which should go well because I’m eager to please. I can’t wait to go home with my bestest fur-ever family to nuzzle and protect.

Hey, everyone! Biscuit here to introduce myself and invite you to meet me and my best friend, Butterball! We came into GPRA together and are playmates and buddies, which means I will be looking for a new buddy when joining your family.

While it takes me a short minute to warm-up to the leash, I am learning that I get to go on walks, which is one of my favorite things! GPRA’s team says that I am a big love bug, playful, and always carry a big Pyr smile!

Looking forward to a PYR-awesome life and a family to call my very own. Your smiley boy, Biscuit

Hi and Hello! Not sure how a 5-year-old, 79 lb. female got the name Evenstar but the very nice woman who found me knows I’m great with her three small dogs, I love being in the center of all five kids who live here, and I’m content to let the cats hide upstairs. She says I don’t have any food aggression but…I empty my bowl onto the floor. It looks like more food all spread out! Sometimes I can’t make up my mind about being inside or out but for some reason I love the unfinished basement. I also like exploring, which would be fine if I did it on the leash, but that’s not always the case, lol. In my defense, I did come back to my temporary home so that’s good, right? I’ll need some paw holding for a little while, I’m still getting used to routine dog things like brushing. If you have an extra hand, or treats, or need a big white dog in your home, please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below.
