Hey there, I’m Reuben, recently arrived at GPRA.  I came from a place where I was tried as a working boy and those goats, they are just are NOT my thing.  So I’m looking for a comfy couch and family to guard.  More info coming soon…

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

I’m here! My two-year-old, 77 lb gorgeous dog self escaped an owner who was about to be cited for not providing water or shelter then I made it out of animal control just in time to meet you. Or a friend of yours. Or your boss. Or anyone you know ready to love, feed, pet, show off and adore a Great Pyrenees with a mysterious past. Maybe I was a pup movie star? I might have valiantly protected herds of sheep. Could be I am the best crumb-picker-upper in history. We’ll have to find out about the other stuff as we go but hey, I don’t know anything about you either so we’re both on the same starting line, right? Of course, by the time you meet me, I’ll have had a bath and good brushing, but I’ll still need a foster and a forever family. No need to swipe right to meet me, just please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below and GPRA’s best-in-the-world volunteers will take it from there.

Nice to see you, are you my new person? I’m Calla, about 4 or 5 years old, 77 lbs, and according to the vet, a sweet dog who had a recent litter. I don’t remember being a mom so it’s OK, becoming someone’s cherished companion is all I need now. I wish I could tell you what it would be like if we lived together but I’m a stray, so I haven’t heard anyone talking about what I like, don’t like, do well, need to get better at doing, etc. What do you think about learning these things together? If you like the idea, and you know how to use the Internet (dog’s don’t you know),  please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” so we can at least say hello to each other.

I’m Starlight, a 6-year-old, 77 lb. female wishing for a furever family on the first star I see every night. Of course, I only see the sky when I’m out of my kennel. Don’t misunderstand, the shelter people loved me, fed me, and sure kept my safe from trucks and cars. I’m grateful. But now I’m ready for a house, maybe some dog toys, and oh, oh, how about people to play with me? Wait, can I add treats and a soft sleeping spot to my wish list? And ear rubs, I want ear rubs, too, please. I probably sound a little greedy, but every pure bred Pyr needs people. Maybe you’ll be my “people”? If you’re thinking about it, Please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below.

Psssst! I am Belle Ami! I just rolled into GPRA and I’m liking it. I am 6 years old and 77 lbs. I am a little on the thin side so bring on some of those yummy meals! Being an LGD was just not for me. I would much rather be with people than guarding some silly old goats. I have some house manners and know how to chill in my crate. I have been outside for a long time and now, it’s time for me to get to know a big fluffy sofa! I like other dogs, cats, and kids. Guess I’m just an easy going gal looking for a place to call my fur-ever home. If you think I’m the gal for you, just click on that little link and let the folks at GPRA know at info@greatpyratlanta.com.

Hey y’all, I am Marty and I just rolled in from Alabama. I am a real live teddy bear that a kind man helped out while I waited out the mandatory stray hold at the county shelter. Far as I can figure I am about 6-7 years old and weigh about 77 lbs. The days of wandering and roaming can be tiring so now I get to be a GPRA boy. They told me they will help me find a fabulous fur-ever home.  I am in a foster home and getting treated right nice. I am starting to get used to this fine treatment. I am good with other dogs and cats and everyone I meet. If you’re ready to share your love, and maybe your sofa, with this here mellow fella, just contact the nice folks at GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com to learn more about me.

I am the fabulous and nimble Houdini! Why Houdini you say? Because I REALLY didn’t like being at the shelter and **hocus pocus** found my way out a couple of times. I am about 1.5 years old and 77 lbs. I need to make some more food magically disappear because I’m a little on the thin side. I don’t want to give away all of my secrets, but, I’m pretty good at getting over chain link fences. When I’m not working hard on my tricks, I AM a really sweet and laid back boy and just want to hang out with you. I know how to walk on a leash and even like other dogs. I think finding a fur-ever family might just have me hanging up my wand.  Contact GPRA today for more information at info@greatpyratlanta.com

Hi y ‘all, I am Tobias, a newly arrival to GPRA from one of the county Shelters. I am a tad bit on the skinny side right now but with some TLC I will fill out. I have had a shady past and do not want to re-live or even think about that. I have a bright new future ahead of me thanks to GPRA. Since coming to GPRA, I have been able to meet new people who show me what love is and really think that I can get used to this. I have been around other dogs and do well with them and learning how to walk on a leash. I think that with patience and structure, I will be a great addition to any home. I will be loyal to my new family and love unconditionally. Let me show you just how great PYR are. Contact GPRA today for more information at info@greatpyratlanta.com

Hi y ’all, I’m Charlotta, a lovey girl who along with friend, Brunetta, showed up at a house a couple of months ago and we were both expecting babies.  This wonderful home kept us all safe and was able to adopt out our babies and GPRA said they would take us so we could find great homes.  I would love nothing more than to find a forever home soon so that I can start my next chapter with a loving family who will help keep me safe.  I am house broken and love all  people including kids.  I am great with other dogs and cats too.  I would best in a home where I am not left all day by myself as I do get lonely.  A family that could provide for me and spend quality time is what I am looking for.  For more information about me, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com.
