My Story

Hi! I’m Stetson, and I’m looking for my forever home or foster home!

I’m a strong and affectionate guy who loves cuddling on the couch and even in bed (I’ll make sure to keep you warm!). I’m a protector, which means I’m always watching out for my loved ones. I’m a smart boy and super easy to train—I know commands like sit, stay & off.

I’m getting better every day on my walks. I wear a no-pull harness for our walks and that works best for me.

I’m a food lover, especially when it’s time for breakfast and dinner! I eat quickly, so I use a special slow-feed bowl. The great news is that I’m not protective over my food, I’ll sit politely before eating, and I’m not a counter-surfer—I don’t sneak food! Hard bones and edible bones are just too special in my eyes, so it’s best not to give me those. Overall, mealtime with me is easy and stress-free!

I love the people I meet and I’m perfectly content with adults and visitors! I’m house trained and have a bathroom schedule that works for me. I love belly rubs, petting, and being brushed.

I’ve got a lot of energy for walks, but I’m just as happy to curl up on the couch with you for a good snuggle. I even sleep on my back sometimes, and you might catch me with my paw up in the air like I’m reaching for a treat. It’s my special way of showing I’m comfortable and happy!

My ideal home would be one where I am the only dog, can get lots of love and attention from people who are patient, understanding, and will continue to work with me. I’d thrive in a secure, fenced yard where I can safely run and play. I’d be happiest with a family who enjoys both outdoor activities and cozy cuddle sessions on the couch. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion with a big heart, I’m your guy!

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
