Howdy, y’all! I’m Luke Spencer, and Luke means light-giving. That name makes sense for me because you can see my bright white coat and the light sparkling in my eyes. I’m a young pyr boy, so I’m sure to be the light of your life with my good pyr energy and lots of love to give. My GPRA friends tell me I’m light on my feet which means I’m good on the leash! We can take walks during the daylight hours or stroll in the winter moonlight. Either way, I’ll be friendly to everyone I meet because I’m good with people and kids. I’ll light up everyone’s day with my enthusiasm! I’m even good with those lightweight dogs, small dogs. If you want to wake up at first light and do a coffee run, I can come too because I’m a great car rider! While I’m still growing up, I consider humans my leading light and listen well to them. I already know the commands: sit and come! I’m a lighthearted pyr looking for a loving family to light up my life. Could it be you?

Hi, All! My name’s Doppio, and in Italian that means “double shot” of espresso! That’s because I’ll bring a double shot of sweetness and love into your life. Also, being a young pyr, I’ve got some espresso energy! I love to play outside, especially with other dogs. Apparently, a doppio gives you the zoomies! While you get the espresso machine going, I’ll run around in the yard. As my name means double shot, I also have twice the smarts. I am housetrained as I learned to use the doggy door in one day! My foster mama says that I’d love to have another dog in the home. Double the dogs, double the fun! In my foster home, I love hanging out with my foster doggy brother and sister, and I don’t even mind small dogs too. Whenever we’re on walks around the neighborhood, I get so happy to meet all the new people and dogs who come my way! Just like my coffee namesake, I bring a spark of joy into everyone’s lives. Consider taking me home today, and I’ll warm you up better than any cup of joe!

Hi, I’m Titan Jax. Pleased to meet you! I’m an affectionate dog who gets very excited to see you and other doggies. Can’t you tell by my smile? I’d love to play with a doggy sibling. One thing about me is that I need a high, privacy fence because I can climb a shorter one like many of my pyr comrades. If I see deer outside my yard, I get really excited! Because I’m such a playful pyr, it would be good for me to have some on-leash exercise before allowed in the backyard just to make sure I’m safe. And, I walk great on the leash. If you want to take me to a park for a stroll, I ride well in the car too. That means we can go places to meet more humans and fuzzy friends! Meeting new people is my favorite activity. Tell me to sit, and I’ll listen, especially if it means I’m getting lots of pets! My GPRA friends say I’m sweet, friendly, loving, and affectionate, so I always get along with humans. I’m also a lovely housemate because I’m housetrained. I even tell you when it’s time to tinkle by whimpering. Another thing I like to do at home is chew on chew toys. They’re so much fun! My GPRA walkers say I’m very friendly and sweet. What could be a better addition to your family than a loving pyr?

Hello folks,
Hurricane, here! I am definitely feeling a rise in barometric pressure because my life is starting to look brighter! I was a stray wandering in all types of weather until GPRA took me in. Now, I’m looking forward to walkin’ on sunshine with a new family by my side (although – cloudy with a chance of some yummy meatballs from time to time would be a welcome treat). If it’s raining dogs and more dogs, that’s great because I love to play and hang out with them. Kids are always the right climate, though; I love them! Sometimes, I’m like a jet stream and jump up from excitement when I see kiddos or new people, but Foster Mama says I’m a people-pleaser and very trainable. I’ve already been getting really good at the command: sit! One thing to keep on your doppler radar is that I do like to chew. As long as I’m kept exercised, though, rain or shine, I’m content. When it comes to walking on the leash, you could say I’ll need someone to help channel my directional force. My leash-walking is mostly smooth sailing, but when I see people, I want to meet them and veer towards them. I know that with my sunny and easy breezy personality, together we will have nothing but clear skies ahead! I can’t wait to meet you!

Hellos! As a quintessential beautiful pocket Pyr, I am appropriately named Jewel Dots. Although still timid as I am new to my surroundings, everyone sees that I am sweeter than sweet tea! GPRA walkers have also learned that I am leash trained, very interactive with my humans, and cannot get enough love and affection. I overheard one of GPRA’s walkers say that I “will make a wonderful forever Pyr for one lucky GPRA adopter.”
As GPRA learns more about me, I will update you.
Your Pyrly sweet girl, Jewel Dots

Good day to you! I am Festus. You probably remember reading about a sweetheart PYR hit by a car, suffering a severe break in the upper third of his femur. I am that boy! Would you believe that I even had to stay in a Georgia shelter before being released to GPRA? Upon being released to this incredible Rescue, I was rushed to an all-star orthopedic doctor for a three-hour surgery to repair my leg!
My Pyr-wonderful foster mom helped me through an eight-week recovery. My sutures were removed, and I resumed normal activities in early August. I couldn’t wait… Know what else I cannot wait for…? Yep, my very own loving family!
Here is what my foster mom wants you to know about me.
“Festus is a cuddle bug that loves his ears and shoulders massaged. Festus will lay his head in your lap for hugs and pets. He then lays down and rolls over for belly rubs. If I let him, he will try to crawl up into my lap.” (I cannot get enough love from my humans!)
“Festus has decided that his favorite thing is a frozen Kong stuffed with 3/4 kibble and 1/4 liverwurst or peanut butter!” (Am I just the luckiest foster Pyr ever? What Pyr would not love this delicious treat?!)
“Festus was on restricted activity due to his leg surgery. I am a good walker and very active now that I resumed normal activities.” ( I can now play and run and take lots of walks!)
“Festus is house-trained. He will pace in front of the door to go outside. If I do not immediately respond, he barks at me.” (I do my best to be a good boy in the house, and I have learned how to let my foster mom know that it’s time to go outside!)
“While outside with Festus one night, he completely ignored the three deer that were hanging in the yard. In fact, he just stared at them! However, when back inside, he barked three times and then went into the master bedroom and went to sleep.” (Yep, I thought those deer were harmless. However, I let them know that I knew they were there!)
“If I do not immediately hook Festus’ collar while getting him into the backseat of the car, he will crawl into the front passenger seat to be my co-pilot. My neighbor thinks it is hilarious to see him sitting in the front seat.” (Us Pyrs want to be front and center in our humans’ life. However, it is much safer for me to be secured in the back seat.)
While I cannot wait to be adopted, I am very thankful to GPRA and my foster mom for all they have done for me.
Pyrly grateful, Festus

Hey, all. I am Prism and a very thankful boy to have been rescued by GPRA from a Shelter. Here is what GPRA’s walking volunteers say about me.
“Prism is a very good boy. Although a little shy, he is a dear love. He passed GPRA’s evaluation with flying colors.”
“Prism loves walking the trails and is a delightful and wonderful boy.”
“Prism is excellent on the leash until he sees a deer. Then, it is playtime.” (Yep, this is my work in progress. Be ready to teach me how to maintain my good leash manners even when I see a deer.)
“Prism has lots of extra pep in his step. It was fun to watch him run a bit in the large play yard.” (I’m a fun boy that just wants to run and play.)
“Prism is more interested in being petted and loved on than playing today. I am so happy to report that Prism is getting more comfortable, and his confidence increases each day.” (Yep, thanks to GPRA’s volunteers, my trusting and confident self is starting to shine.)
“Prism is the sweetest boy. We got to be friends very quickly.” (Thank y’all so much for helping to build my trust. GPRA’s volunteers are Pyr-awesome!)
Your Pyrly happy and grateful boy, Prism
