My Story

Hi, I’m Matteo!

I’m a super friendly, happy guy with a big heart and an even bigger love for people. I can be a little tentative when I find myself in brand-new situations, but don’t worry—I handle them like a champ. Once I know I’m safe, my affectionate side really shines. Belly rubs, snuggles, and hanging out with my humans are some of my favorite things.

I’m currently thriving in my foster home and doing really well. I love going for walks and get very excited about them (I may hop like a bunny on the way out the door 🐰). I also enjoy stopping to sniff everything outside… sometimes for a very long time.

Food is definitely one of my interests—especially people food smells! I can be a little picky with treats, but beef jerky treats and collagen bones are big wins for me, especially when I’m left alone. I’m not protective over my food or toys at all and am totally fine if you touch or take them. I like having company while I eat and tend to be hungrier in the evenings.

Inside the home, I’m happy to greet anyone who comes by and love meeting new people and dogs. I do great when left alone—give me a good chew and I’ll usually nap until you’re back.

I’m an affectionate guy who enjoys being brushed, and doesn’t mind handling or paw touches. Pills are no problem either—as long as they come with chicken! Loud noises can sometimes surprise me, and firetrucks make me howl along, but I recover just fine.

Full disclosure: I do have a soft spot for shoes and socks, and I might counter surf if something smells amazing. I’ll also jump over gates if given the chance, so a little management goes a long way. I sleep on my dog bed or the floor, prefer hanging out indoors, and enjoy car rides—with a little help getting in.

If you’re looking for a loving, social dog with a goofy hop, a big personality, and a lot of love to give, I just might be your guy. šŸ’™

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

My Story

Hi, I’m Raven šŸ–¤

I’m a gentle, quiet girl with a soft heart, and I’m looking for someone special to be my person. If you’ve ever wanted a loyal shadow who just wants to be near you, I might be exactly who you’re looking for.

I can be very shy when we first meet, so I appreciate slow introductions and a little patience. Once I feel safe, though, my sweet and loving side comes out. I love being close to my people—lying nearby, watching your next move, and soaking up calm affection. When I trust you, I’ll happily roll over for belly rubs and give you my famous Pyr Paw to remind you that I’m yours.

I’m a smart girl and I enjoy learning, especially when treats are involved. I already know things like sit, stay, down, and come, and I’m a good listener who really wants to do the right thing. I’m also fully house-trained and will let you know when I need to go outside by pacing or heading to the door.

I’m low energy and prefer a peaceful home where I can relax and feel secure. Walks are still a bit scary for me—I’m not quite sure about all the sights and sounds yet—but I’m trying my best and gaining confidence every day. With patience and encouragement, I know I’ll learn to enjoy them more.

Inside the home, I’m easy and gentle. I don’t chew things that aren’t mine, I rarely bark, and I’m happy to sleep on the floor or on a cozy blanket near my people. I get along well with other dogs and have shown no aggression toward people or kids—I just need time to feel comfortable.

What makes me special is how deeply I love once I trust. I’m calm, intuitive, and very in tune with my humans. I’ll be right by your side, quietly offering companionship, warmth, and unconditional love.

If you’re looking for a soft, devoted soul who will reward your patience with loyalty and affection, I’d really love to meet you. 🐾
