I don’t know why I’m named after a bird since I can’t fly but this 1-year-old, 66 lb. boy sure can roam. I came to GPRA from a shelter which I guess means I’m a dog orphan. It’s OK though because GPRA is known across the Pyr twilight bark as being the best place for strays to find families. And especially families with other dogs for those of us who enjoy living with people AND our own kind. I’ll be sure to have my foster, as soon as I meet him, her, or them, tell you more about what I’m like in the house, my favorite ear rubbing spots, and preferred treats. Then, when you please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below, the nice humans with thumbs can call you and tell all the other good things about me!

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

I’m Bonnie, the 1.6 year old, 66 lbs female half of GPRA’s pair Bonnie and Clyde. See, we are not a bonded pair so we do not have to be placed together. We do like to have some fun, so I’d do best with another dog in the family. Clyde’s an excellent under-the-fence-digger and since I like to go where he goes, I’m looking for a safe house with secure outside space where I can run and play without escaping. Unlike the famous Bonnie, I don’t smoke cigars, we both love people, and we’ll never steal your car. But, we’ll for sure steal your heart if you let us. Do you want to meet? I hope you said yes and if so, please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click the “Apply to Adopt” button below.

Hey everyone, I’m Ghost, a 4-yr-old, 67 lb boy and even though my name is a little scary, I am very safe now, thanks to GPRA. It’s probably obvious why I need you but the short story is my owner neglected me, took me to a shelter, Ms. Karin at Fido’s World freed me from my fur matts, and now I have a brand new sweater and jacket to go with my brand new life. When you see my photos, keep in mind I was still a little woozy from the calming medicine the vet gave me to shave my fur. I am actually a very gentle canine soul who stands up well, enjoys face rubs, plays with other dogs, and loves attention. Would you like to meet for a treat or two? Or ten? I need treats almost as much I need a family! It’s easy to meet me, just mail info@greatpyratlanta.com or click the “Apply to Adopt” button below.

Hi y’all! I am Rendy, a fine southern boy whose about 4 years old and 66 lbs. I am on the smaller side but have a great big heart. I came to GPRA with some problems with my legs. I was not cared for very well and needed to be fixed up. GPRA took care of that and now I am healed and healthy and ready to find my “furever” family. Life without a home was so scary, loud and busy for me so now I prefer a quiet and simple life. I will be happiest if I were your only dog love. I am house trained and have good house manners. If you’re looking for a quiet guy to be your best friend, I would love to meet you!  Contact GPRA today for more information about me at info@greatpyratlanta.com

Hi! I am the fluffy Polaa! That’s short for “Polar Bear” because I look a little like one. I am going to be 2 years old in a few months and a petite 66 lbs. I am here at GPRA because my previous family made the hard decision to help me find a new family…one that could give me more attention and the space that I deserve. I love to bounce and play with dogs and kids and even cats. In the house I am very quiet, calm and sweet and I love to hang out in my crate (that’s where I store all of my toys)! I walk great on a leash and even know lots of basic commands. I know I would fit right in to your home and in your heart.  Contact GPRA today to learn more about me at info@greatpyratlanta.com

Hi everyone, my name is Mango!  I am a smaller pyr gal who is very sweet but can also be shy. Currently, I am only at 66 lbs., and around 2-3 yrs. Old.   I spent some time on my own and was not able to care for myself properly so I need some help and TLC to get back to a good weight and regular brushes to maintain my beautiful white coat.  I just recently went into a wonderful foster home where I will be learning my house manners and how to come out of my shell.  I have a fur-brother that will help teach me ropes and well as a two-legged human to play with.  I expect to only be at my current fosters home for a short time because I am a gem and rare and really wanting my forever home.  If you think I am that pyrfect fit, please contact GPRA today and info@greatpyratlanta.com
