Blue Dog Paw

My Story

Hi there! My name’s Luigi, and I’m a sweet and curious pup who’s looking for my forever home! I’m currently living in a foster home with two awesome foster doggy siblings, and while I’m still a little shy when meeting new people and dogs, I’m warming up every day. It’s been so exciting to learn new things and have lots of fun!

I’m a pretty playful guy, and I love treats! I can get really excited when I see one coming my way. My foster mom gave me a slow feeder bowl because I tend to eat fast, but I’m still learning to be a little more patient at mealtime. Don’t worry, I don’t protect my food or toys – I’m easy-going when it comes to sharing, whether it’s my bowl or my favorite squeaky toy.

Even though I’m a good walker, I also enjoy cuddling up on the couch and getting some quality belly rubs. I’ve even learned to sit, lay down, and come when asked (though I still need a little encouragement to do it quickly). I get a little shy when called, but I’m working on it!

I’ve also been learning how to communicate that I need to go outside for potty time. Right now, I’m watching my foster dog siblings use a training bell by the door, and I’m trying to figure it out too. Sometimes, I just give my foster mom a little nudge to let her know it’s time for a bathroom break.

I’m not a big fan of loud noises like fireworks or sirens, but I’m getting braver with every passing day. And when it comes to car rides, I’m a little hesitant at first, but once I’m inside, I’m all good! I’m also not a huge barker, just a normal, average amount of barking for me, mostly when I want to say hello.

One thing that always makes my foster mom smile is the little grunting sounds I make when I stretch or when I’m greeting them. Oh, and I have this funny habit: before I settle down for belly rubs, I’ll turn around and show my tush first. It’s my way of saying, “I’m ready for some love!”

I may be a little shy at first, but I’m growing braver every day, and I promise that I’ll be your best friend if you give me a chance. I’m just a calm, sweet, goofy puppy, and I can’t wait to find my forever home where I can be loved and share my quirky personality with you.

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. Hello, darlings! I’m Lexi Dots, and don’t you think I have the most beautiful eyes? Very soulful for a puppy! My GPRA family says I’m very sweet, and my favorite thing in the whole wide world is belly rubs! I’m a tiny bit shy at first because I’m still learning to trust humans, but I warm up quickly. Then, I want, you guessed it, more belly rubs! I give nose kisses too. I mean who doesn’t love to boop noses with a pyr? Because I’m a young pup, I need some training on going potty outside and walking on a leash, but I know I can do it! One thing I’m already good at is riding in the car. Just pyr, I mean peer, into my eyes and see all the love I have to give. Take me home and help me become the good-est pyr girl I can be!

Ciao my beautiful and adoring admirers!
My name is Spritz! Although the cocktail that shares my name might be made with bitter liqueur, there is nothing bitter about me! I am sweeter than a glass of Moscato on a cool evening in Capri!
I might be a little shy at first, but once I get to know you, I’ll warm right up. I get along with other dogs and ride pretty well in the car (though in my dreams I am riding a Vespa!)
Presto!
Let’s meet! So I can join you in your bella casa!

Hi, there! I am the magnificent Buddha boy! I think you will agree that it’s hard to accept that my previous humans sent me to a shelter because they moved. Yes, a shelter! Why would humans do this to me? I’m just a loveable and fun young Pyr eager to learn everything possible to be the very best-mannered and faithful companion! Are you ready and willing to invest the patience, time, and training to help me? If yes, then I am your boy!
Here is what GPRA’s volunteer walkers know about me.
“Buddha is sweet, adorable, and playful! He can be a spitfire and full of energy.” (Of course, I am a bit rambunctious, I’m a young and fun boy!)
“Budda will be awesome with a dedicated owner who will put in the time to train him. He shows great adoration for some of GPRA’s walkers and will be a wonderful buddy.” (If you want to be my buddy, I’ll be yours!)
“Buddha is such a smart, friendly, and affectionate boy.” (I try to be a good boy, and I also have a lot to learn yet!)
“Buddha is very curious and friendly with the other dogs. He loves to entice other dogs into playing with him.” (Playtime is the best time!)
Pyr-ready for the best life, Buddha
