Hi, I am Historia! My life has been hard on me. However, I cannot thank GPRA enough for giving me and my pal, Kiba, a chance at a future loving home. GPRA’s walkers and trainer are still learning all about me, so I will have more to share with you soon. I am grateful for all of their teachings, too. Since my life has changed drastically so quickly, I am doing my best to be a quick study. Still, it takes a while to figure out the leash thing, proper manners, and basic commands. Since Great Pyrenees are smart dogs, I know I will figure it all out.
Here are some things GPRA’s team said about me.
“Historia is a full-on happy go-getter.” (Of course, I am! I am grateful that humans finally care about me. All I want is more, more, more…)
“Historia is a real sweetheart.” (The love I get from GPRA’s walking team is the stuff that I have never experienced before. I always knew I had a hidden sweetheart side.)
“Historia always rolls over for belly rubs.” (Can you blame me? It is my way of telling humans that I trust them to keep loving on me!”)
One more thing, it will be best if I am the only dog in the family. You see, I am still young and learning and need dedicated time, obedience training, consistency, and patience. Then, I’ll grow up with good manners and make you very proud.
If you are looking for a girl who will be grateful for opening your heart and home, then that girl is me.
Gratefully yours forever, Historia

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

I’m Smee! I’m a 7-month-old, 56 lb Pyr/Golden mix puppy that is loving my foster family. They have so many good things to say about me: I am housetrained! No accidents in the house at all! I am great with all of the dogs, big and small, in their house and am so curious, that I follow them everywhere to see what they are doing. I love to play. I can even chase a ball. I am gentle with the kittens and even snuggled and cleaned a tiny little puppy. Then, after all of the excitement of checking out cats and kittens and playing with my kids, I love to get up on the sofa and snuggle with my family. I am very snuggly. Sometimes I get a little scared because there are so many new things but, hey, it’s a lot to discover and learn. I am ready for my fur-ever home and my kids say “somebody will be incredibly lucky to have me as their companion because I’m amazing!” If you think so too, please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below soon!

My “Z” name means I’m usually last, but I want to be first in your heart. I’m almost two-years-old and at 56 lbs., probably full grown considering my petite, girlish frame. GPRA saved me from a shelter so either I make up a lot of awesome stuff about myself so you want me, OR we spend some time getting to know each other. Let’s meet so you can pet me, scratch my ears, feed me treats, and get lost in my soulful eyes. I’ll stare adoringly back at you, wishing with my whole being you’ll choose me. If this is your idea of the “Pyrfect” date, please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below.

I’m Vanessa, a 1 or 2-year-old, 56 lb. girl you may have seen on TV, but not in a good way. I “lived”, if you can call it that, at an awful puppy mill in Georgia until the owners went to jail (yay!) and GPRA rescued me (double yay!!). I’m extra lucky because I have a foster who’s so patient and sweet, I get a little nervous when I can’t see her. Hopefully my new family will have dog toys, it’s a blast being unchained and playing catch with myself all over the place called a backyard. Oh, and a dog bed would be cool, but not nearly as important as calm people who will pet and nurture me as I learn how to be a wanted dog getting regular meals and clean water instead of what I used to be. My foster mom says I’m smart and a fast learner so if we meet now, we could be in love in no time! I’m ready so please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below if you have room for me in your heart and home.

Hi y ’all, I’m Brunetta, a lovey girl who along with friend, Charlotta, showed up at a house a couple of months ago and we were both expecting babies.  This wonderful home kept us all safe and was able to adopt out our babies and GPRA said they would take us so we could find great homes.  I am a little shy at first when we meet but I do warm up to you in just a few minutes.  I am a little on the smaller side right now as I work on my girlish figure.  As you can see from my pictures here that I have also perfected the “PYR PLOP” when I don’t want to go back to my kennel.  I would love nothing more than to find a forever home soon so that I can start my next chapter with a loving family who will help keep me safe.  For more information about me, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com.
