It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s…Skye! Hi, everybody, I’m Skye, and I’m a big pyr boy who is just waiting to come home with you. My foster mama says my intelligence is sky-high. I know so many commands like sit, stay, lie down, up, no, and give paw just to name a few! And, of course, I’m housetrained. To tell you I need to go potty, I will either go to the door or come to you. I’m also a good boy when left home alone for a few hours. Another sky-tastic thing about me is that I’m excellent on the leash. I walk right by your side! On leash, I’m super friendly to every human and every dog that I meet. As far as my love for my humans, the sky is the limit! I love being with my family, and belly rubs are my absolute favorite. Because humans are the sun to my sky, I am protective of them, so I need slow introductions to anyone who comes to our home. My foster mom can tell you that one of the best ways for me to spend time with my people is on a car ride. It’s just so much fun! I even loved being brushed because that means I get to snuggle close to you. Consider adopting me today because with me in your life, it will be clear, blue skies from here on out!

Ever hear a Pyr bark with a British accent? Me, either so my parents asked GPRA to find this 2-year-old. 125 lb. boy a new home before they move to England. We will miss each other so much but the change is important for my parents. Plus, I’ve heard such great things about GPRA adopters, I’m actually kind of excited about my fresh start, too. Here’s a long list of reasons to choose me: I’m house-trained, good with our young teen granddaughter, love car rides, and get along with dogs and cats. Now, if the felines come too close to my food, I sound a warning growl but I’m fine with people reaching for my food, treats, or toys. In fact, I follow the sit-wait command at feeding time and patiently wait my turn as last in the pack. Yeah, I live with six, count them SIX, tiny dogs and I’m still well behaved! Small people, however, I’m not sure about because I’ve never met any. It’s worth noting, though, I’m sweet, loving, and don’t react to thunderstorms or loud noises. There’s some other fun stuff about me, like how I stop barking on command and what my parents add to my food. If you please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below, they’ll tell you my magic word and toppings then maybe we can meet?

Time sure changes thing! Yesterday I was a puppy and today I’m a two-year-old,125 lb. grown-up boy dog! Time brought unexpected changes to my owners’ lives so with our farm closed, my wandering out of boredom, and my dad immobile, my safest place is a new place. Of course, as a protector, I worry about my dad being without me, but I love him for putting me first.  I’m super playful and happy to bounce around with adults, kids, cats, or other dogs. I’ll even share my dining space with other animals, I’m not food reactive at all. In fact, my first taste only happens after my dad says it’s ok to eat. I like car rides and I’m almost 6’ tall with my paws on your shoulders. Come to think of it, maybe I should live with older kids. You can teach me to keep my paws on the ground (while we work on house-training and other inside manners), but high-pitched voices make me mark. Nope, don’t know why but calm, low pitches are better. Oh, and a fence might be a good idea, too since at least as of now I like to explore. Maybe that will change when I’m inside and hanging out with my people? Will you please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below to talk about meeting me?
