Are you a dog-savvy human waiting for a giant Pyr? How about a 3-year-old, 120 lb. boy who needs an understanding new family? I’m housetrained, can be left alone for several hours, will chill in my open crate, and can “sit”, “stay”, “come” and get “down” on command. Car rides are awesome, kids are fun, and other dogs seem OK although I’ve never shared my house or family with another pet. Right now, I’m living with my mom and her new baby, which I’ll confess is not awesome. Human babies take a lot of attention away from fur babies and like so many Pyrs, I love human attention. I truly adore being adored even though it can take a whole day or so for me to warm up to new people or places. On the other side of that coin, I can’t get far enough away from thunder, fireworks, or other loud noises. You’ll find me panting, drooling, and desperately searching for a hiding place. Also, I’m not a fan of the “e collar” my mom puts on me now and then to “brush up on my barking and behavior” as she calls it. I much prefer a dog-smart, patient alpha human with a loving family who will snuggle with me endlessly while I gain more confidence and adjust to my new home. Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. Hey, my name is Chase and I am 2 years old Pyr.  I am a SUPER sweet big boy weighing in around 120 pounds and according to everyone who has met me, I am a charmer.  I was one of the lucky ones to get a foster home right away and I am happy to report that I have been on my best behavior too.  I am very relaxed and get along great with my furry foster siblings.  I am great on the leash and cannot wait to take long walks with my family now that this weather is getting cooler.  I look forward to finding my new home and hope that the day will come that I have a family to call my own.  Contact GPRA today to find out more about me at info@greatpyratlanta.com.

Hey there, I’m Wanzee, a returning GPRA alumni.  My parents could not take proper care of me anymore and contacted GPRA so here I am, a fine middle aged gentleman looking for my new furever home. I am around 6 years old and a wonderful house dog.  I am settling into my foster home and enjoying the love and attention that I am getting from them.  I share a home with another dog and humans.  I do enjoy my morning naps outside in this cooler weather and sometimes ignore their calls to come inside.  I do prefer to be next to you in the bed or on the couch when it is time for a Siesta too.  I will make a great addition to any family that can give me love and take me for walks.  To learn more about me, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com

Hi there, I’m Luna. I’m a 5 yr old gal who was taken in by a loving family who has cared for me and helped me after I was left on my own. I am a wonderful sweet girl who is just looking for my new family. I will do best in a home where I am the only dog. I deserve all the attention and do not want to share my humans. I am house trained and love taking long walks. I enjoy spending time in the car going to the groomers or even going to the local market to shop. If you believe that your ready for us to be best friends, then lets meet and make this partnership official. Contact GPRA today for more information about me at info@greatpyratlanta.com
