Buon giorno, my pyr friends! I’m Bianca, and while I’m not Italian, my name sure is. Bianca means “white” in Italian, and I’ve been told I’m a big, fluffy girl with a snowy white coat. Speaking of snow, there’s even snow in sunny Italy in the mountains where people get around by skiing. This signorina has never been skiing, but I do love going places by car. My GPRA transporter said my fur looked gorgeous flowing in the wind when I stuck my head out the window! I enjoy living la dolce vita, which is Italian for the good life, whether I’m taking in the fresh air or getting my ears scratched which I love! My personality fits my dolce vita lifestyle too; my GPRA friends have described me as very affectionate and laid back. With me, you’ll always be living la vita bella, the beautiful life, whether we’re cuddling or on a walk because I’m also good on the leash. I’m a sweet, confident girl who will say grazie mille, thanks a million, when I get to come home with you!

Daisy Darling is my name, and you will not find a sweeter, gentler giant than me.

What’s a low-energy girl to do when all she has known is to be home alone for long hours? Yep, sleep! Therefore, very mellow me will benefit from many short walks to get me stronger and help me drop a few pounds.
Here are other things that my foster family knows about me.
“Daisy Darling is a lovely girl and is great with people and other dogs.”

“Daisy Darling has terrific leash manners. She meanders along but loves to go on walks.”

“Daisy Darling is house-trained. One night she woke me up to let me know she had to go outside. She is such a good girl.” (I try to be a good girl. Thank you for getting up and taking me outside.)

“My younger dog jumped on Daisy Darling when she was sleeping, and it startled Daisy. Daisy let my dog know that she was not happy with that behavior by barking at her. Very young children need to know to leave her alone while she is sleeping.” (I am a gentle giant and like naps without interruption or someone or something jumping on me. You understand, right?)

“We call Daisy a turn-key Pyr because she is pyr-fect. She has excellent manners, takes treats gently, is house-trained, and loves almost everyone and everything (except cats).”

“Daisy adores children. She loves going to the bus stop where all of the children fawn over her.” (The best hours of the day are bus drop-off and pickup. Can I go to school with the younger humans?)

“Daisy will do very well with future owners who have a low-key lifestyle – possibly a retired couple. And, if grandkids come to visit, she will soak up the attention.”

“Daisy Darling has perfected the Pyr paw and will Pyr paw you for more pets.” (My human sister pets me a lot, and I cannot get enough of her love and affection.)

“Daisy Darling is the easiest foster that I have ever had. She is also the sweetest!” (Aww, thank you!)

Your Pyrly darling girl, Daisy Darling

Hi, I am Storm!
I’m currently with a wonderful foster mom, and she has lots of great things to share with you about me.

“Storm is a sweet and chill girl.” (Yep, give me a dog bed, and I will enjoy lounging around during the day.)
“Storm is on the lower energy side. She enjoys morning and afternoon walks. Since she is carrying a little extra weight and loves walks, we are working on fitness.” (Dropping a couple of pounds will make me a healthier girl. Are you ready to have a walking buddy?)
“Storm will do well in a quieter home that does not have children or other pets. Storm is very content with a set schedule.”
“On walks, Storm is social with other dogs and people, slow and cautious but warms up quickly when introduced.” (I try to be a well-mannered girl.)
“Storm is a lovely dog. She is not constantly seeking attention but still wants to be with her humans.” (Yes, I love my humans.)
“Storm has good manners and will paw at the door to go outside.”

Although my name portrays something different, a quiet, peaceful, and calm life makes me a happy girl.  Pyrly yours, Storm.

How-do-you-do? I am Chief!
My loving previous owner, who saved me from a bad situation, says that I am a charming boy and absolutely handsome. Yep, she is biased, but she is also correct! She also said that I am active, friendly, quiet, playful, obedient, and easy-going. Just know that I am both easy-going and all about business if indeed I need to be on patrol and your faithful guardian.
When I am not the slightly stubborn yet typical Pyr, I will respond to “wait, walk-on, and sit (occasionally).” I do my best!
If you can sing and even if you cannot, I love it when my humans sing to me. Better yet, let’s take a car ride together and listen to the radio. You can sing, and I will be your number one fan!
I’m your classic Pyr boy and hoping someone out there will open their home and heart to me. In return, you will always count on me to be your Pyr-awesome Chief.

Does the mark on my head looks more like a paw or a flower? Either works since I’m obviously a dog and my name’s Lily, lol. I’m 2.5-years-old, 110 lbs., and get along fine with people and older kids. I’m pretty calm and laid back most of the time but confess I don’t care for toddlers crawling on me or pulling my fur.  Baths are just fine, petting and belly rubs are even better! I like my Great Dane sibling, maybe because we both have “great” in our breed name or perhaps because we’re the same size? Bigger animals are preferable as I don’t get along so well with smaller dogs, bunnies, cats, or chicks. By the way, I know where you humans keep the good food so might want to clear the kitchen counters while we work on some house manners. I guess I’ll end this little introduction with two last comments: I’d like to live far away from gunshots (those are very scary sounds!) and I promise to protect you when someone approaches our fence. I mean, Pyrs are protectors and I’m a proud Pyr. Also, a loving one so if you have some time to meet me, please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us”, or choose “Apply to Adopt” below.

Hey, hey, hello! I am Shelby, a 10.5 year old senior boy, and I am a big boy at 110 lbs. I am finally putting down my paws and retiring from the farm life. My parents are a lot like me and retiring too, so they brought me back to GPRA so I can retire in style. I am looking for my big, comfy, forever sofa now. I am a really sweet and gentle boy who knows some manners and I love all people. I really like the female dogs, but prefer to the be the only male dog…you remember I am used to doing my job and be the big boy of the house. If you like slow walks and need a furry foot warmer, I am your guy! Contact GPRA today to learn more about me at info@greatpyratlanta.com

Hey, My name is Fred.  I am around 3 years old and new to GPRA.  I was saved by a wonderful gentleman earlier this year from the shelter.  We instantly bonded and started to have a great life together.  I showed him how great my house manners were and how great I am even for taking walks on a leash.  I have met a lot of other dogs and cats in the past few months and they are all my friends.  My human had plans to retire later this year and we were going to have so much fun together.  However, this plan has changed and he can no longer promise me this future.  But what was promised to me was a great family that could spend the time with me and who wanted to show me a great future.   I will forever be grateful for him and giving me my second chance at life.  My lucky number is three so take the chance on me and I promise you, I will be forever your loyal companion.  For more information about me, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com

Hello everyone, my name is Lincoln. I am a really tall, really lovable and really lanky boy, like my presidential namesake.  I am around 4 years old and am searching to find my forever home.  I unfortunately had to be brought back to GPRA because I was a little bit of a troublemaker.  I was in a wonderful home and had an amazing PYR brother, however, when we were left alone outside I would always find a way to get out of the fencing.  All I wanted to do was take a walk around the neighborhood and encounter really nice people to hang out with.  I never quite understood why they kept taking me back to my yard and told me to stay.  My guess is that I LOVE human companionship too much and will require a home that will give me this on a daily basis.  I am great with other dogs and do not mind cats.  Since I love taking walks, I need someone that likes taking adventures and doesn’t mind getting their feet muddy or wet when I want to take a hike in the woods.  If you want a lovable big teddy bear, I am your guy.  Contact GPRA today to learn more about me at info@greatpyratlanta.com
