I might share a name with a super-charged motorcycle but this 8-year-old, 120 lb. boy is a low key, couch potato who is good with dogs and cats. Oh, and in case you have a rabbit, I like them, too! My dad, who took me everywhere with him sadly, isn’t here anymore. So, my human sister asked GPRA for help finding me a new home. I’m very well-socialized, as you may have guessed based on those frequent outings, housetrained, loving with grown-up people and children, and fine being left alone at home alone. I’ll just snuggle up on the couch or in a comfy chair and keep your spot warm until you get back. I’m not a picky eater but I will stand over my food bowl if another dog approaches it. After all, Pyrs like their food as much as you humans do! Ah, and speaking of food….want to get together for a snack and a walk? Remember, I’m a mellow guy so if you just want to do the snack part, that works for me. Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

Ever visited McDuffie County, GA? If so, then you and this 2-year-old, 109 lb. boy already have something in common! My brother Sam and I used to live there until our owners gave us to a shelter. Why? Well, your guess is as good as mine but thank goodness for GPRA and second chances. Now, if only I had 1000 words to go with my handsome pictures, I could tell you why I’m the best Pyr for you. Sadly, all I know about myself is what you see, and that I need to be with my buddy Sam. But, if you please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below, we can get acquainted over some tummy rubs and crunchy treats.

Hello! I am Trooper. I bet you are thinking that I do not look much like a Great Pyrenees right about now…well, my mom was a Pyr and my dad, well, he might have been a Husky type of dog. I am 2 years old and 112 lbs. I’ve been staying with a great family and have learned a lot about being a family dog. I have even been through training! I am good with other dogs and like to be active. I love to meet new people and really need a family that likes to go places and take their best buddy…me! I need a family that will take the lead and guide me to be the good boy that I’ve learned to be. If you need a buddy that will be active with you, just let them all know at info@greatpyratlanta.com. I would love to romp and play with you!
