Hellos. I am Tanya!
If you seek a lovely, friendly, and Pyr-sweet girl, then look no further because here I am. My previous owner really loved me but could no longer care for me. Before I was surrendered to GPRA, I slept in a van because my owner did not have other options. Now, I’m ready for a new family who will talk sweetly to me and keep me fur-ever.

My foster family is the absolute best. Here are a few things they have learned about me.
“Tanya loves new people and is very friendly.” (Yes, I love meeting and getting lots of pets from all the humans.)

“Tanya will make an ideal companion for someone who works at home and can take her on short walks throughout the day.”

“Tanya absolutely loves a fenced-in backyard and enjoys smelling the fresh air and just wandering around the yard.” (Psst…this is the secret to a happy Pry!)

“Tanya loves children. Children should be teens or older to walk Tanya because she is strong.” (Yes, I need more leash training, but I am improving every day.)

“Tanya knows when it’s time for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. She will sit by her bowls or stand by the kitchen island waiting to be served dinner.” (Of course, I know when it’s time to eat, I’m a Pyr.)

“Tanya is somewhat of a couch potato. Her favorite thing is to sit on the outside deck or relax in her nest behind our rhododendrons!” (Most Pyrs claim favorite spots in the house and outside. My outdoor spot is very shady and even has flowers.)

“Tanya is still learning how to walk on a leash without pulling. We encourage her to take short walks several times throughout the day.” (I told you my foster family is the best!)

“Tanya loves to be brushed! She cannot get enough brushing.” (Yes, just keep brushing.)

So, that’s a bit about me. Now, it’s time to meet you!
Pyr-ready for the good life, Tanya

Hello, I am Chuck Norris. No, not ‘the’ Chuck Norris, but arguably the much better Pyr version Chuck Norris. GPRA’s care team says that I am a very happy, sometimes shy, friendly, and playful Pyr. If all 107 pounds of me will not fit on your lap, then snuggling is just fine, too! GPRA has also given me an excellent report on my leash walking manners. I am learning fast and at the prime age for some obedience training which will help me be my very best Pyr self and make you very proud of your boy! Come and meet me soon… Your Pyrly cool and gorgeous-eyed boy, Chuck Norris

I have no idea where my name came from but it’s perfectly safe to hug and kiss this two-year-old, 107 lb. boy! Just like my pack mates, I like kids, dogs, and car rides (if the truck’s not too high to climb into). I’ve never met a cat, but if they’re like people I’ll probably love jumping and loving on them just like I do humans. Yep, I’m a playful puppy, well in spirit at least. Oh, and living inside will be new for me. even though I’m not a livestock guardian, I lived outside. Hmm, I wonder where you keep your dog treats? If you can’t remember, just please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below, and maybe I can come sniff them out for you?

I am a very chill dog. Or so they say. They also say I’m 1.5-years-old, weigh 107 lbs. and play well with other dogs. Adult people are very cool; kid people usually are, as well until things get too noisy or chaotic. Remember, I’m a chill dog so a bunch of activity sometimes overwhelms me. Add housetrained, sits and shakes on command, and walks well on a leash to my awesomeness. I’m proud to say I can be left home alone for ten hours but please don’t take that long to email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below.
