Hi, I’m Kooper, and it’s super to meet you! Did you know I’m a Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherd mix? It’s a super-duper combination because I’m a big boy, but I’m also tall and have short hair. Foster Mom says, I’m still getting used to the leash, so I have a few bloopers on the walk like going around trees or light poles. I’m a good listener, though, and I’m never reactive on the leash. If we take a looper around the neighborhood every day, I know I’ll master leash-walking in no time! Foster Mama also says I’m quite the mover. I’m an active young pyr boy who loves his outdoor time. Because I’m very smart and can jump high, I definitely need supervision during outside time. With my energy, I love to play until I’m in a stupor, so a doggy sibling would be awesome for me! My foster family also says I’m an attention-scooper. I love to be where my people are to get as many cuddles as I can. Dogs and other people make me so happy that you might call me a grouper because I love to be a part of a fuzzy and human family! Could this grouper Kooper be the pyr-fect pup for you?

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

Charleston, SC is a great city, if you’re Great Pyrenees who loves city activity and sounds. Turns out this 3-year-old, 106 lb. girl prefers quiet routines and being the center of the family. That’s a nice way of saying I’m an adults-only dog; just grown-up humans and me, please. My family has tried so lovingly and longingly to help me adjust to urban living, it’s not for me. Thankfully they’re selfless people and asked GPRA for help. I’m a sweet, healthy, beautiful, goofy, Pyr who loves being pet and groomed. I’m energetic and if you see me stomp my paw, then I’m ready to play. If you need to do errands, I’m an excellent car companion. However, I’m good home alone (up to six hours!), too. I won’t get on the furniture and I’m mostly housetrained. And I’m smart, too; I know sit, paw, stay, lay down, and heel. Of course, I have what people call “areas for improvement”. For instance, I’m a bit insecure, which in dogs sometimes mean easily frightened, even by silly things like printers! Cars passing me on the street are scary, thunderstorms are scary, and even dogs or people I don’t know can be scary. If you’re getting the sense that I’m a work in progress with way more rewards than challenges, you might be The One. No getting around it, this 5-year-old, 106 lb. girl needs a new home. Why I’m moving is personal, but I promise I’ve been safe and cared for these last few months. I’m housetrained, good with dogs, kids, and leave my cat sibling alone. The first few minutes on my leash are wiggly and pully because it feels so good to be out and smelling new smells, but I settle down pretty quickly. I wish I had a lot more to share because I really want you to please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below so we can meet but this is all I know. How about we get to know each other?
