Just like the real Bert and Ernie, we’re the best of friends, but we’re both ready to go to our own homes. Hi, I’m Bert, and my foster mama tells me I’m the alpha with lots of personality. Hello, there! I’m Ernie, and Foster Mom tells me I’m a little shy at first, but I warm up quickly. We’re both very sweet, friendly, good with people, and good with other dogs. As we’re young pups, we’ll need lots of love and patience. Us young pyr boys are still learning how to be housetrained, leash-trained, and basic-command trained. The most important thing with puppy training is to use positive reinforcement only, please, which means treats and praise! And, the most, most important thing is that you take us home today and start giving us all the love you can. We’ll give you all the pyr puppy snuggles in return and entertain you with some yard-time zoomies!

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

Warmer weather is here, and so are we! I’m Laurel; it’s me on the right! And, I’m Hardy on the left! We’re the sweetest brother boys this side of the equator. Our GPRA transporter said we were very affectionate too. For us, snuggles and pets from our humans are like sunshine after the rain. We just love people! Being brothers, we’re also great roomies, so we probably get along with other dogs too. It would be awesome to have some fun in the sun with other doggy siblings or just with each other. A six-foot fence sounds like a good idea too because we may be escape artists. Another thing we’re working on is our leash manners. Leash-walking is a new concept for us, but we’ll catch on quick! Our names mean bold and victorious, so walking well on the leash is something we can totally achieve. Brave is another meaning for our names, and our GPRA transporter said we were so brave and jumped right in the car. He said we were excellent car riders too. If you’re searching for two cuddly pyr boys to brighten up the dog days of summer, look no further, we’re here and ready to come home with you!

Hi, I’m Milo! And, I’m Bart! We’re two big brother boys who love to be together, and we can’t wait to come home with you. You can see me, Milo, in the first two pictures, and you can see me, Bart, in the last two pictures. What you’ll get with us is double the love because affection is our strong suit. Giving kisses is something we’re really good at! All we want is to get pets and be loved by our family. We do need to learn some basic commands, and Foster Mama says our sweet nature will make us easy to train. Because we adore our humans so much, we sometimes jump on our foster family out of excitement. We’re working on it, though! Besides loving our family, we’re also great on the leash. You can get double the compliments from people when we take a stroll around the neighborhood. Foster Mom says we’re also excellent car riders! It looks like you’ll be taking us to get two puppachinos on your morning coffee run. Hehe! We’re already a pack of two, but we’re looking for a family who will love us and help us grow.

We, Zeus and Apollo, have arrived and are ready to greet you with our growing pyr paws! Like our legendary namesakes, Olympian gods, we will fulfill our destiny to serve humanity. Could you possibly be the humans who we will love forever? As very energetic, almost one-year-olds (Who isn’t energetic at this age?), we will need dedicated time, training, and exercise. Our dog-loving foster parents have learned a few things about us, and we are pyr-ty grateful for their kindness, care, and yummy healthy treats. It seems like in our ancient past, we were fed out of the same bowl, but that is not the behavior of gods. So, now, we are fed separately and are learning how to eat more calmly as befits our olympian status. We also were a little head shy at first, but we are gaining our god-like confidence little-by-little as we continue to train and learn to trust our foster parents. Brotherly love is something we have down pat, and we know with the right family who helps care and train us, we will become very loyal individuals to our humans. Foster Mama says, “Zeus is the braver guardian and will always approach to say hi while Apollo is a bit more shy and needs some coaxing.” Foster Papa says, “As young boys, they do quite well on the leash and will blossom with additional training.” We’re your future glorious and most great Pyruss, Zeus and Apollo. Will you take us home?

Double the fluff; double the love; double the magnificence!
Hellos to everyone. We are Nike (gray ears) and Adidas (all white). Are you looking for endless hugs from two big whites?
GPRA has lots of great things to tell you about us.
“Both boys are super sweet and give kisses and lots of Pyr paws. They are people-oriented and very playful!”
“Adidas and Nike are entertaining on walks because they run, play, drop, and roll together. Their bond is magical and undeniable, and they greatly complement each other. Adidas can be a little less active, while Nike likes to be more active.”
“Both Pyrs have loveable personalities and are curious and great with kids and other dogs.”
“Their leash manners are improving, and the boys know the commands,  “sit” and “come.” They will chase a cat, so be careful and aware.”
“Adidas and Nike are big-hearted Pyrs and full of joy. They love life and live it to its fullest!
“The boys will bury their favorite stuffed toys probably to hide them from each other.”
“Nike can be a bit more reserved and independent. He howls and whines and has a hoarse-sounding bark to call for people to come to hang with him. But, without a doubt, he is as sweet as can be! Both dogs will thrive with kind-hearted owners.”
We promise that adopting us will be the greatest gift you receive this year!
Pyrly yours, Nike and Adidas
GPRA Update: Nike is recovering from emergency surgery. He swallowed what was thought to have been fabric/string material that flipped his stomach. (This can be life-threatening to dogs.) Nike will fully recover but needs low activity for a few weeks. GPRA advises owners to pick up toys when dogs are done playing to limit the risks of dogs accidentally swallowing pieces of their toys or even socks.
