I’m a puppy, I have gorgeous eyes, and I’m ready to love you. Want to know more? Well, I’m 24 weeks young, weigh 38 lbs., and a girl who used to live in a shelter. I hear there are lots of reasons dogs end up as strays–they get lost, they get left, they run away—but I don’t know how it happened to me. And all I really want to know now is how a stray ends up being a forever dog to a kind, funny, loving person who has lots of treats and gives lots of ear rubs. I hope the person who rescues me will hold my paw, IF I’m scared of storms, take me on long walks, IF I like being outside, and will help me grow into the very special dog I know I want to be. Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
