I’m Starlight, a 6-year-old, 77 lb. female wishing for a furever family on the first star I see every night. Of course, I only see the sky when I’m out of my kennel. Don’t misunderstand, the shelter people loved me, fed me, and sure kept my safe from trucks and cars. I’m grateful. But now I’m ready for a house, maybe some dog toys, and oh, oh, how about people to play with me? Wait, can I add treats and a soft sleeping spot to my wish list? And ear rubs, I want ear rubs, too, please. I probably sound a little greedy, but every pure bred Pyr needs people. Maybe you’ll be my “people”? Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
