Obviously, my name is familiar but keep reading and I bet you recognize part of my story, too. Let’s start with the easy stuff: I’m 1.5-years-old, weigh 85 lbs. and am friendly just like the cartoon Simba. I didn’t run away from home, though; my parents are moving overseas, and I’m not allowed on the plane. Right, same as Hotaru. Which means I’m also an outside dog who wasn’t house or crate trained. On the plus side, I love being pet and get along well with other dogs. My humans say food and attention are my top priorities. They also say I’m clingy and am very easy-going, which is silly because I don’t go anywhere, other than on leash walks.  I know the words “calm down” mean don’t play so hard. Which is OK, cuddling is just as much fun. Unfortunately, those two words don’t help when the thunder starts. But hey, this is kinda cool, I can open certain types of doorknobs with mouth and paws! Please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below and the GPRA people will tell you which kind.

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
