My Story
Hi, Everyone! I’m Salem, and my name can means “perfect.” I bet I’ll be the perfect addition to your home because I’m so loving and affectionate! Humans are my favorite, and I love getting pets from them. Sometimes, I even jump up a little out of excitement when I see people, but I’m easily redirected. Another dog to romp around with in a yard could be perfect too because I do seem really interested in playing with other dogs. But, I’m equally happy to play with toys, so being an only dog could also be perfect. Either way, as a young pyr boy with the energy to match, my perfect home would have a yard to get out all my zoomies! My name also means “complete,” and I feel most complete when I’m the center of attention! My GPRA friends noticed that I’ve already learned “up,” and you can see how in the second picture, I’m standing up like a seal. It’s my way of saying, “Look at me!” With my bouncing energy and affectionate nature, I’m the complete package. I’m even good in the car and good on the leash! Since I love my humans more than anything, I am great at listening to them. The only thing that could complete my happiness would be going home with you!

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
