Ruger
Ruger, here! If you’re looking for a larger female with a sweet and radiant personality, then I’m your girl. In fact, while I am an alpha female, I get along great with beta males and beta females. A beta male dog is my best friend at my foster home! I could go to a home as an only dog too because my humans are everything to me! Cuddling people and just hanging out by them is a great way to spend an afternoon. I even get along royally with my kitty-cat friends! On walks, I’m usually relaxed on the leash; however, I can be strong and pull towards other dogs out of excitement. I have just the right amount of pyr energy, so I do enjoy being outside in a yard or on a walk. If I have a yard, a six-foot fence will keep me safe as well because I can be an escape artist. Most of the time in the backyard, though, I am calm and watchful. You’ll see that my coat is resplendent in the sun! I like to keep my coat looking regal, and the good news is that I don’t mind being groomed. My tolerance for grooming comes from the fact that I truly love and trust my people. When they tell me to sit, stay, leave it, or come, I listen like a rockstar! Because I’m food-motivated, learning commands has been a rewarding experience. I’m also house-trained! If you need to run an errand, you can rest easy knowing that I can be left alone to roam the house. I’ll take a restorative nap while you’re gone. Or, you can take me with you because riding in the car is a lot of fun! I’m so ready to go home with the right family for me, and I promise I’ll reciprocate with all my love!
Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta
Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
