My Story

Hi there! I’m Ru, a sweet and gentle female Pyr, looking for my forever home.

Life has been a bit tough lately since my owner passed away, but I’m doing well in my foster mom’s care. She’s been super kind and loving, and I’m starting to feel right at home again!

I’m a lover of all things cozy and calming, and I really enjoy a good brushing session (it’s one of my favorite things!). I also adore treats—especially the natural animal hide and organ ones—yum!

I do like to keep an eye on things, so being able to see out of a window is always a plus. I also love getting all the pets and attention. I’ll let you know I’m comfortable with you by responding to “sit” and “come,” though I may need a little time to warm up first. I do great with having my paws wiped and I’m really good about doing my business outside (no accidents here!).

I’ve been working on a few things, like not tugging on the leash during walks—sometimes I get excited, you know?

I’m a peaceful presence, and I enjoy sleeping at the foot of my foster mom’s bed—just quietly keeping watch. I’m a total angel when I’m at ease. I can’t wait to find a family who will love me as much as I will love them!

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
