Max Moonpie
Max here to let y’all know that I am a survivor and have kept my Pyr smile, playfulness, and friendliness despite living through tough and hungry days. Long story short, I was pulled with other dogs from a neglect situation by Animal Control, and GPRA came to my rescue. With time, I am hopeful that my tendencies to guard my bowl will fade away as I begin to trust that I will get more than enough food. However, I love other dogs and cats as we became good friends during our difficult days. After my hind leg was run over, it is a bit stiff, which only means that I may need a little help getting in and out of the vehicle, but so do most Pyrs. If you are my forever, I will follow you all over the place, join you on car rides, and let you know every day how grateful I am to be in your loving, kind, and trusting care.
Looking forward to endless hugs, a cozy bed, and happier days… Max

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta
Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
