My Story

Hi, I’m Maverick! I’m a big, affectionate guy who loves nothing more than being close to my people. They call me a “velcro dog” because I stick right by your side, whether we’re walking around the yard or just hanging out together. I’m easygoing, friendly with everyone I meet, and I get along well with other dogs of all personalities.

Most days, I enjoy lounging and relaxing, but I also love a good romp with dog friends and giving my famous gentle hugs. When I look into your eyes, you’ll see my happiness shining right back at you.

I’m learning that leash walks can be fun, and I already walk nicely with just a little encouragement. I keep my kennel clean, respect fences, and do great when left alone. I don’t mind being brushed or handled at all, and I’m always happy to sit for pats (sometimes before you even ask!).

My favorite treats are cow ears, pizzle sticks, and wet food—yum! I can be a little nervous in the car, but with some encouragement, I’ll get the hang of it.

I’m doing really well in my foster home, but what I’m truly ready for is a forever family to love. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who will bring you smiles every day, I just might be your guy.
