My Story

Hi! I’m Mario and came to GPRA with my brother, Luigi. We have quite the story to tell.

On the morning of September 29th, everything changed. The air was thick with worry as news spread about a terrible fire at the Bio Lab. We had no idea what was happening outside our little world in the shelter. But soon, we learned we would have to leave in a hurry. The humans were evacuating us due to some scary fumes in the air. It was dark outside as we were loaded into crates. We were scared and confused as the sounds of chaos filled the air. Just when we thought things couldn’t get any stranger, a kind lady from GPRA arrived. She seemed determined to help, and before long, we were in her van and on our way to a new place.

As we drove away from the chaos, we snuggled against one another. The lady had a warm smile and gentle hands. She took us for a little walk when we arrived at her home. We could feel the tension melting away as we rolled in the grass, inviting belly rubs. It was the first time we felt safe in what felt like forever.

The next morning, we were met with another surprise: a bath! We were a bit unsure at first, especially since we were both so itchy and flea-infested, but once we were was all cleaned up, we both felt like new dogs. After our bath, we met another kind lady from GPRA, who whisked us off to the vet for our intake appointment.

The vet was friendly and we could feel the love from everyone around us. It was hard to believe that just the day before, we were in such a scary situation. Now, we were on our way to a new life.

We’re excited to find our forever homes! It would be best for us to be adopted separately, so we can each get all the love and attention we deserve!
