My Story
Hi, I’m Maddie! 🤍
I’m a tall, lanky sweetheart looking for a forever family to love—and I promise I have plenty of love to give in return!
I’m friendly, affectionate and happiest when I’m getting attention from my people. I give wonderful hugs and may even climb right into your lap when you sit down. I may be a big girl, but that doesn’t mean I’m too big to cuddle!
I have a fun, playful side and love galloping and bouncing around the yard on my long legs. I enjoy being active, but I also settle down nicely when it’s time to relax. I walk on a leash, although I may pull a little if you aren’t keeping up with my pace.
I’m housetrained and always look forward to going outside for yard time. I also know how to use a doggie door. I’ve respected my foster family’s fence, but an open gate can be very tempting, so my future family will need to keep a close eye on doors and gates to make sure I stay safely at home.
I’m not especially food motivated and prefer to graze throughout the day. I share my space and food nicely with Mabel and don’t mind other dogs being nearby while I eat. I’m not very interested in toys, and I’m not a chewer, either.
I’m a quiet girl with very little barking and minimal drooling. I enjoy being petted all over and am comfortable having my paws, ears and belly touched. I’m also a wonderful passenger who loads easily into the car and rides well.
Sudden sounds like gunshots or fireworks can make me nervous, although soft rumbles of thunder don’t seem to bother me much. A reassuring family who will help me feel safe during loud events would mean so much to me.
More than anything, I’m an incredibly sweet and loving girl who wants to be close to her people. If you’re looking for an affectionate companion with long legs, wonderful hugs and plenty of love to share, I may be the girl for you!
I can’t wait to meet you! 🐾

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
