My Story
Hi, I’m Mabel! 🤍
I’m a tall, beautiful girl with a gentle heart, a playful spirit and so much love to give. I’m looking for a forever family that will enjoy having a sweet, respectful companion by their side.
I love attention from people, but I’m polite about asking for it. I tend to stay close to my person and enjoy being petted and loved on. I’m friendly, affectionate and cuddly, and I’m comfortable having my paws, ears and belly touched.
One of my cutest habits is sitting nicely when I want attention. I may not know many formal commands yet, but I’ve already figured out that being a good girl is a wonderful way to earn extra love!
I enjoy spending time outside, especially when I can gallop and bounce around the yard on my long legs. I’ll occasionally chase a ball, pick it up, toss my head and proudly run around with it. I’m quite a sight when I get moving!
I’m a nice combination of active and easygoing. I enjoy walking and running, but I also settle down well when it’s time to relax. I walk on a leash, although I may pull a little if my person is moving too slowly. I also enjoy watching the cows in the neighboring pasture and remain calm when cars or tractors pass nearby.
I’m housetrained and always look forward to yard time. I know how to use a doggie door, too. I’ve respected my foster family’s fence, but I may try to slip through an open gate, so my future family will need to be careful when coming and going.
I’m not particularly food motivated and prefer to graze throughout the day. I share food and space nicely with Maddie and don’t mind other dogs being nearby while I eat. I’m also not a chewer and don’t show much interest in most toys.
I’m a quiet girl who rarely barks and barely drools. I load easily into the car and ride very well, making me a wonderful companion for family adventures.
Sudden sounds like gunshots or fireworks can make me nervous, but low rumbles of thunder don’t seem to bother me. I’ll appreciate having a comforting family nearby when the world gets a little noisy.
If you’re looking for a loving, respectful girl who will stay close, enjoy your affection and occasionally entertain you with a joyful gallop around the yard, I may be your perfect match.
I can’t wait to find my forever home! 🐾

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
