My Story
Hello everyone! My name is Luna and I am looking for my new home. I am a well trained girl. Some commands I know are “sit”, “down”, “shake” and “leave it”. I like to take walks. I pull on the leash when we first go out, but then I settle down. I know how to use a doggy door, if you have one, otherwise I will stand by the door when I need to go out. A couple of things I like to do is remove squeakers from soft toys and cuddle. My foster says I’m a big couch potato with sweet puppy dog eyes. I’m a “Velcro dog”, which I guess means I like to be where my owners are. When strangers come to the house, I need to be introduced properly before I trust them. In typical Pyr fashion, I like to bark at other dogs or cars when I’m outside. I am crate trained, but I can be left to roam the house as long as the trash and small items such as remotes and glasses are out of reach. I do not counter surf, but if food is at my eye level, I’m interested (of course). It isn’t a problem though, because I respond well to “leave it”. Like many dogs, I’m afraid of loud noises like fireworks, loud trucks etc. If you are looking for a new snuggle bug, I would love to meet you! Please contact GPRA and fill out an application.

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
