My Story
Hi, I’m Lumi — a mellow, affectionate sweetheart who loves belly rubs, gentle hugs, and being close to my people.
I’m spending my days in a foster home right now, and I’m learning just how wonderful life can be. I’m naturally calm and quiet, but don’t let that fool you — I’m also friendly, outgoing, and full of love once I feel safe. My foster mom says I’m a “professional cuddler,” and honestly… she’s not wrong. If snuggling were an Olympic sport, I’d bring home the gold.
I enjoy exploring the yard and getting a little burst of zoomies, but after that, I’m perfectly happy relaxing for most of the day. I love to sit politely for affection and will happily roll over to show you my tummy — belly rubs are my favorite thing in the world! I also like offering my paw during pets, just to make sure you know I adore you too.
I’m a picky eater and prefer to graze, but I don’t guard food or toys (not that I care much for toys anyway). I walk on a leash but would love someone to help me learn not to pull. New dogs and new people make me a tiny bit cautious at first, but I warm up quickly, especially if they’re friendly. I always wag and greet politely once I feel comfortable.
I’m very reliable with my potty habits — even in my kennel, I wait for yard time, no matter how long it’s been. I respect fences, don’t mind being brushed, don’t drool, and I’m a fantastic car passenger who hops right in.
One more thing: I’m very bonded to my friend North. I always look out for her, and I feel better when she’s nearby. Having another dog around—especially one who’s calm and kind—helps me feel even more secure.
If you’re looking for a gentle, loving, cuddly companion who will happily snuggle by your side and give you all the affection you could ever want, I’d love to meet you. I’m ready for a forever home where I can love big, relax deeply, and show you just what a sweetheart I truly am.

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
