Get this, my namesake is a water spirit similar to a mermaid! Yep, this 2-year-old, 74 lb. girl is named for a beautiful, captivating mythical creature in German folklore who stood on a rock along the Rhine river. I think it’s appropriate since I’m also beautiful and love to stand guard on the couch. The humans at the vet’s office say I’m sweet, take treats very gently, and love being groomed. This is a good thing since GPRA rescued me covered in matts. And now that I’m looking my best self, I’m ready to live my best life. Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
