Hey, my pyr rock ‘n’ rollers! It’s Jimi Hendrix here, and while I’m named after a rocker, I’m a gentle soul. My GPRA transporter says I can be touched all over, and I take treats very gently. My namesake played the electric guitar, and one thing that electrifies my spirit is ear scratches. I love them! And, belly rubs make me want to sing! Jimi got his kicks by strumming on his guitar, but I get joy from being near my humans. While I’m a little shy at first, I warm up very quickly. I liked snuggling close to my GPRA transporter for the whole drive. Once we arrived, I got on the leash. I’m still learning how to walk on the leash, but Jimi didn’t learn to play the guitar in a day. I’ll learn how to leash-walk with time too! One fun fact about Jimi Hendrix is he was 5 feet and 10 inches tall which is pretty tall. And, one fun fact about me is that I’m a pocket pyr which means I’m on the smaller side for a male pyr. I may not be able to play the guitar like Jimi, but I’ll give you all the sweetness in the world. You saying, “Let’s go home” would be music to my ears!

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
