Hotaru
I am a 1.5-year-old, 80 lb. boy who used to be an outdoor dog. My owners are moving, and something called COVID means no dogs allowed on overseas flights. I’m so lucky I now have the best foster family that includes humans, six other Pyrs and even chickens and bunnies. I learn fast and have had NO accidents in the house since day one. I love my new indoor life! I can be a bit shy at times and don’t always enjoy taking medicine but my foster mom is teaching me to be patient and says I’m so smart! I am coming out of my shell more and more every day. I now play with my foster brother, a Pyr mix, and we have so much fun! I am great with all of the dogs in my foster home and I’ve met a couple of other dogs that came to visit as well. I think I would do best in a house with another young, big dog. I am great with my foster mom’s cats and kittens as well. I watch the chickens in the backyard and I’m fine with the bunnies too. I’ve never met young kids, but I LOVE teenagers. I have to tell you a secret I am super picky about food but I love human food. I used to be free fed but now I’m learning to eat twice a day with my pack. I’m learning so much in my new temporary home! I’ve even gotten used to being brushed! I walk very well on a leash and ride great in the car. I believe I will make a great companion for someone, I really want a new loving fur-ever home. Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta
Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
