Our Story
Hi there! We’re Ham and Cranberry — a bonded pair who have walked every step of this journey side-by-side, and we’re ready to find our forever home… together.
Life didn’t start out easy for us. We were abandoned on a property in Alabama, and a kind local rescue kept us fed until GPRA could bring us to safety. Cranberry delivered our seven puppies overnight in an unheated building, and she’s been the most devoted, loving mom you could ever imagine. While she’s busy caring for our babies, I (Ham) am in boarding — but soon we’ll be reunited again, just like we’re meant to be.
Everyone who meets us says the same things:
We’re gentle. We’re sweet. We’re calm. We’re easy.
Basically… we’re the pyrfect pair.
I, Ham, am the cuddly, friendly guy who loves everyone and walks beautifully on a leash. Cranberry brings the same peaceful, grateful energy — soft, steady, and full of quiet love. When you see us together, it’s clear: we’re happiest side-by-side.
We don’t bring chaos or drama.
We bring serenity, devotion, and the kind of companionship that fills a home with warmth.
We’ve been through a lot, but we’ve never lost hope — because we know the right family is out there, one who will open their hearts to both of us. All we want is what every soul longs for: safety, kindness, and a forever home where we can finally exhale… together.
If you’re searching for two loving Great Pyrenees who will give you nothing but calm affection and gentle companionship, we’d love to meet you.

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
