Good day to you. I’m Grady, and who might you be?

What does a loving, gentle giant like me do when my caretaker gets sick and cannot care for me anymore? The sad truth is that Pyrs like me end up in shelters, and that’s where life ends, but not for this boy.

Lucky me, rescue organizations like GPRA are Pyrs’ saviors and give dogs like me another chance at living out our years feeling loved. You understand, right? Doesn’t everyone want to feel loved? Now, I need some super special humans to look at my picture and say, “that’s our boy!”

Here are a few things to consider as you decide which gentle giant you want to adopt.

Pyrs like me are mellow and very calm. You will still see lots of play in me, and with the right balance of shorter walks and outside time, you will find me dozing the day away. No worries, I will also be guarding the homefront and let you know if something needs your attention. Don’t you want to know when a butterfly flies by the window? Just kidding, but I will let you know when the UPS truck arrives.

One unique thing about me is that I have learned to take my human’s hand and lead them to the door when I want to go outside. I’m gentle, well-mannered, and respectful, especially of my humans.

So, that’s a bit about me. As my wonderful foster family learns all about me, I will update you. Until then, thank you for taking the time to read my story, and maybe we will meet very soon!

Pyrly yours, Grady

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
