Hi there, I am the handsome Dakota! I am a young boy just a little over 2 yrs old and 90 lbs. I had a really nice life with a big yard and a doggie door to come and go. I came to GPRA to find a family that will spend more time with me. I know my house manners and love to chill on the sofa. I am really happy to meet anybody, I have never met a stranger and I really love those small people too! I even like other dogs! I am learning to work with those little kitties, since they are new for me. I know my leash manners and a lot of good stuff: sit, outside, let’s go. I love treats and playing with balls and toys. I EVEN play fetch. That’s not usually something that a Pyr likes to do, but I could do it all day long. Play, play, play, that’s the life for me. I would do best with a family that is active and can remind me of the rules. If you’ve got some time to play, I’m your guy! Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
