Happy Day, everyone! If you are a Star Wars fan, you will fall in love with big, irresistible me because my name is Chewbacca! Cool name, right?
I have a wonderful family to thank for saving me from a horrible place. Since they already had four dogs, they knew GPRA was my best chance at a good life.
At first, everyone thought that I was part Golden Retriever because my coat was reddish-orange. Nope, I’m full Pyr! My beautiful coat had absorbed lots of Georgia clay, so GPRA put me through the magical grooming transformation, which included not one but three baths. Gosh, it felt so good to get all that dirt out of my coat that I fell sound asleep after my Spa Day! Now, I don’t even recognize myself. I am quite the stunning boy if I say so myself. (Yes, that’s my Pyr confidence and pride talking.)
Everyone says I am a super sweet and chill boy, so come meet me soon!

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
