My Story

Hi there! I’m Buddy, and I’m a big, sweet, goofy guy who’s been through quite a lot, but I’m all healed up and ready for my forever home! I was hit by a car, but don’t worry – I had surgery to fix my leg, and I’m doing great now! I’ve got a calm, laid-back attitude and love to cuddle, though I do enjoy the occasional goofy moment. I’m not really food-motivated, but I’ll happily munch on some yummy treats, especially if it’s a piece of BBQ sandwich – that’s my magic pill disguise!

I get along great with everyone – adults, kids, other dogs, and even kitties. I’m a social butterfly who loves going to dog-friendly spots and just hanging out. I’m an easy-going guy, though I’ve got a bit of a mischievous side, like when I snuck a butter container off the trash (oops!).

While I’m recovering from surgeries, I’ve been a couch potato most of the time, but I enjoy my daily strolls. I’m excellent on the leash – no pulling, just a slow, steady walk, especially around the cars, which I’m still a little cautious about.

I’m house-trained and a total pro at being patient for my meals. I don’t beg, but I sure do know how to get comfy on a dog bed or the floor (and even on the couch if I’m feeling fancy). I love belly rubs and being brushed – I’m a sucker for affection. And I’m learning fast – I know my name and basic commands, and I’m smart enough to follow along with whatever life throws my way.

I think I’d make a fantastic therapy dog or companion for someone who needs a calm, loving buddy. I’m just looking for a home where I can be safe, loved, and maybe even help someone out with my special skills. Could that be with you? I promise to be the best friend you could ever ask for.

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
