Top of the day to you! I am Beluga! No, I’m not a whale, but I am a big, white, fluffy Great Pyrenees, emphasizing “GREAT”! I am also an immensely grateful Pyr to be with GPRA as shelter life was quite depressing. With the holidays soon approaching, my ONLY wish is to have my very own family. GPRA volunteers hear me crying now and then because they know I desperately seek human love and companionship.
Here are a few things that GPRA’s Pyr-fabulous walkers have learned about me.
“Beluga is very affectionate. So, he very much wants love and his own home so badly. He’s a big sweet boy! He will make a sweet cry now and again.” (Yep, my own family (and a comfy dog bed) are all I need!)
“Beluga is another social pup who wants to make friendly acquaintances with nearby dogs.” (Yep, I’m just a social guy!)
“Beluga “chatted” with each Pyr as we made our exit to the yard! He enjoyed exploring, and then we had a lovely time walking. He cried a little bit in the yard. He is a sweetie!” (I cry because I do NOT want you to leave ME.)
“Beluga is sweet, playful, and a great leash walker. He is also a handsome and BIG boy and still needs to gain weight.” (Aww, thank you!)
“Beluga will bark and pull on the leash if he sees/hears something concerning. He will benefit from continued leash work with lots of positive reinforcement.” (Thank you for your patience as I continue to learn how to make you proud of my leash manners.)
Pyrly wishing for my very own family, Beluga

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
