Welcome, my noble pyr friends! I’m Amira, and I’m a pyr princess. My crowning achievement is that I’m very good on the leash. When we promenade around the royal footpath, or what humans call the trail, I’ll set a queenly pace. However, the devoted knights, I mean GPRA walkers, would claim that my most majestic quality is my sweetness. I simply adore affection and pets! When my dear companions take me to the yard, I do explore, but then I elegantly stroll back to them for lots of cuddles. In fact, just as a duchess might offer her hand for a greeting kiss, I gracefully give pyr paw to signify more attention, please! I’m an exceedingly loyal and loving pyr lady who is just waiting to come home with you.

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
