Hi, I’m Alaska Lilly, and my GPRA transporter thinks I fit my namesake just fine! Alaska means “The Great Land,” and I’ve been told I’m one great dog. Dogs are really important in Alaska; in fact, the state sport is dog mushing. I’ve never been on a dog sled team, but I’m very good on the leash. Those dogs have to run over a lot of snow and even avoid volcanoes because there are over 100 in Alaska. I’m not like a volcano at all, though, because I’m as sweet as baked Alaska! Dog sled teams must get so tired avoiding volcanoes and going over all that ice. They should just get places by riding in the car like me! My GPRA transporter says I’m an excellent car rider, and I jump right in. You don’t have to go to Alaska for a PYR who will lean on you and snuggle because I’m right here and ready to come home!

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
