I might share a name with a super-charged motorcycle but this 8-year-old, 120 lb. boy is a low key, couch potato who is good with dogs and cats. Oh, and in case you have a rabbit, I like them, too! My dad, who took me everywhere with him sadly, isn’t here anymore. So, my human sister asked GPRA for help finding me a new home. I’m very well-socialized, as you may have guessed based on those frequent outings, housetrained, loving with grown-up people and children, and fine being left alone at home alone. I’ll just snuggle up on the couch or in a comfy chair and keep your spot warm until you get back. I’m not a picky eater but I will stand over my food bowl if another dog approaches it. After all, Pyrs like their food as much as you humans do! Ah, and speaking of food….want to get together for a snack and a walk? Remember, I’m a mellow guy so if you just want to do the snack part, that works for me. Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

Well, life’s full of surprises, huh? I’m Teddy, an 8-year-old, 80 lb. boy who never expected to be on this famous Great Pyrenees “find-a-family” website. Why? Because I never imagined my mom being unable to safely care for herself, let alone me. Sadly, she has dementia and after she fell recently, we had to face reality. Thankfully our vet knows GPRA helps Pyrs like me find wonderful new homes. In fact, I’m already living with a sweet foster family patiently “holding my paw” as I adjust to this unwanted change. We go for car rides and take snuggle naps together—both of which I love doing—and they let me eat outside in the nice weather! My foster mom says I’m good with other dogs, although I’m not sure what that means because who doesn’t like dogs, especially one this handsome? She’ll happily tell anyone interested in loving this senior guy all you need to know if you’ll please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below.

A picture is worth 1000 words and I’m grateful GPRA’s adding happy words to my life story. I’m Salt, an 8-year-old, 80 lb. boy abandoned in an empty trailer with fleas all over my body, several kittens, and no electricity when it was almost 100 degrees for what felt like forever. An angel drove an hour every day to feed me, let me outside, and keep me company until she couldn’t do it anymore. So now you know I’m house-trained and probably noticed I look a little different from my neighbors on this page. I’m certain I’m part Pyr because I’m loving, calm, gentle to people and other animals, and resilient. How resilient? Well, when I was eight weeks old, someone put me in a bag and threw me out of their car traveling at 70 mph. A kind stranger took me to a vet who even though they couldn’t save my back leg, saved my life. So, I guess I’ve had a few angels in my life and now I need another one. Or maybe a whole family of beautiful people to care and shelter and love me in my senior years? Maybe yours? Please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below and we can meet.

Well hey! My name is Levi. I am a really laid back guy at 144 lbs and I am 8 years old. I found my way back to GPRA since my family had to downsize and find a smaller place to live. Now I am looking for my new home with a new family, where I can spend my senior years. I have great house manners, know some commands and I am really an easy going, sweet heart pyr. My brother Jack is here too. We both are searching for our forever homes separate or together. I will follow you anywhere for some ear rubs and snuggles. How about it? If so, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com.
