I kinda match the first part of my name: a 7-year-old, 68 lb. girl who like snow, is all white and just appeared out of nowhere. Thanks to GRPA I’m getting a chance to find myself and a fur-ever family. The shelter staffer said I’m a farm dog who apparently didn’t like farming because I kept escaping over a chain link fence. She also told a co-worker I love being brushed and since I’m scared of inside floor surfaces, they carried me outside to potty. I’ve heard other roaming dogs learned to walk on carpet and tile so I bet I will, too. This is where you’d tell me about you except since I can’t read, will you please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below so we can get together and talk?

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

Hello everyone, I’m Bella D., a 7 year old, 96 lb female and am happy because GPRA took me in and got me all fixed up. I am now healthy and ready for my fur-ever home! I know a few commands (come, stop, stay) but like any Pyr worth their salt, I also make my own decisions. I am house trained. I am not a counter surfer or a food beggar. I take medicine and treats very well. I love to sit outside and watch the world go by for a little while but you can’t leave me out for too long by myself because supposedly I jump fences when I get bored. I was shaved and my fur is slowly growing back in but it doesn’t matter, I still think I’m a beautiful girl. I currently am in heartworm treatment and my foster human says I’ve been such a good girl. I like to walk on a leash but if you’re looking for a fast walker, I’m not your girl. I like to go at my own pace. People say I look sad but I’m really a very sweet, happy girl and so thankful to GPRA. I am good around people of all ages (even kids) and mostly good around other dogs, sometimes it just takes me a minute. I’m getting better in the car and really just want to be around my people as much as possible. I have been visiting the seniors at the nursing home and they LOVE me. Truth be told, I love the attention they give me. So, what do you say, do you have love in your heart and room in your home? If so, please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click the “Apply to Adopt” button below.

Hi new family who I hope is reading this! I’m Shelby, a 7 year-old, 70 lb female who’s family is trusting GPRA to help me choose a new home. So, I made a wish list. I would love an experienced dog family willing to keep my ears clean so they won’t hurt and watch over me as I age. I overheard a GPRA human say my back teeth look like I may have chewed a cage wall so I’d also appreciate no more crating. It would be great if we could get to know each other, maybe a meet-and-greet ear rubbing session? If you agree, please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click the “Apply to Adopt” button below.

Want to snuggle? It’s one of my favorite things to do! I’m Lucie M., a 7-year-old, 79 lb. GPRA alumni who loves everyone and everything except thunder, vacuums, and blenders. I’m having a wonderful life with my family but now my mom isn’t well so with tears in her eyes she asked GPRA to find me another loving, safe home. Since my mom is being so selfless putting me first, it’s my turn to help with the home search by introducing myself. First, let’s talk about how perfectly I get along with dogs of all sizes, welcome hugs from people of all ages, look forward to playtime (which is all the time!), am house trained, and always sleep on the floor next to my mom’s bed.  My mom’s grandkids visit us a lot, which I love, and think it would be even better having my own kids who pet me and treat me kindly. Oh, about the loud noises, my medicine calms me down during storms and I just bark at the vacuum and blender. I’m not a crate dog and actually really enjoy being outside.  Maybe we could go for a walk and explore living together? Please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below if you want to meet.

A great big hello! Hi, my name is Jack. I am a big fella at 117 lbs and 7 years old.  I am a little on the shy side when I first meet you. I found my way back to GPRA since my family had to downsize and find a smaller place to live, and well, as you can see, I am a big guy too, so now I am looking for my new home with a new family.  I do not have a lot of experience with children, and I dream of a nice quiet home where I will get lots of love and tummy rubs. I know my house manners, know some commands and I LOVE food and treats.  Did I mention that I am a big fella?  Oh, and my brother Levi is here too.  We both are searching for our forever homes separate or together.  Do you have room in your heart and on your sofa for me?  If so, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com.

Hey there, I’m Wanzee, a returning GPRA alumni.  My parents could not take proper care of me anymore and contacted GPRA so here I am, a fine middle aged gentleman looking for my new furever home. I am around 6 years old and a wonderful house dog.  I am settling into my foster home and enjoying the love and attention that I am getting from them.  I share a home with another dog and humans.  I do enjoy my morning naps outside in this cooler weather and sometimes ignore their calls to come inside.  I do prefer to be next to you in the bed or on the couch when it is time for a Siesta too.  I will make a great addition to any family that can give me love and take me for walks.  To learn more about me, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com

Hi, my name is Hobbes, I am a gallant gentleman at the age of 7 who has come back to GPRA due to my family having unfortunate events that unfolded.  They made a promise to me that no matter what happened, that I would find my forever home with a family that will love me just as much if not more.  I am a very handsome boy who does great with other dogs and love kids.  I enjoying being with my family and will be the most loyal companion.  I would love a family that will include me with their daily outings.  I think taking long walks, going to the park, going shopping and even getting Coffee together would be a lot of fun.  If you want the PYRfect addition to your family, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com for more information.
