Hello, I am Clooney! My picture tells you everything. Yes, I was neglected, abandoned, and deprived of adequate food and shelter. While my start to life has not been good, this will not be how my story ends. Now that I am with GPRA, great things are finally happening. Daily food, fresh water, and lots of love from humans are the best things I have ever experienced. GPRA’s trainer also said that I am great with other dogs and people. The leash thing is new, but I am learning.  While I am a bit afraid of my surroundings still, I am sure that my Pyr confidence will be back in no time.  It makes my Pyr heart and pride very happy when I hear GPRA volunteers say that I am on my way to being a mighty handsome Pyr!

Looking forward to backyard barbeques and just hanging out with my future family.
Your good boy, Clooney

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

I know, my name is so cliché for a Great Pyrenees when I join your family, you can change it! Hopefully, you’ll like other stuff about me if my name’s not doing it for you. I’m 4.5-years-old, weigh 94 lbs. and like giving kisses. The GPRA folks who know me say I’m super sweet, kinda strong and something they call “not reactive to other dogs.” Yep, us Pyrs know you humans talk about us, especially when the expert trainer says I’m probably one of the best Pyrs he’s ever worked with. According to him I’m incredible, need some leash manners, and no resource guarding. Another one of this fancy people terms that in dog speak means I just might be the one for you. Now would be a good time to please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below, with the nice fall weather starting. We can do lots of outdoor things then relax at home with snacks and snuggles.

Despite my name, I’m actually looking for a nice, level couch and a loving family ready to adore a 4 or 5-year-old, 98 lb. Pyr boy. I was wandering around a place called Rockdale County until I found myself in a small cement room. I like eating twice a day and having clean water, but a bigger, quieter place would be an awesome holiday gift! Believe me, I know the more I tell you, the easier it will be for you to fall in love with me, but my past is a stray’s past: unknown. Granted, I am a Great Pyrenees so if breeding means anything, I’m likely cuddly, calm, loyal, good with kids, and love being loved. Of course, I can’t promise these things are true, but I can promise to do my best to be your best dog. I may well need your help to get there, but all you have to do right now is please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below.

Nice to see you, are you my new person? I’m Calla, about 4 or 5 years old, 77 lbs, and according to the vet, a sweet dog who had a recent litter. I don’t remember being a mom so it’s OK, becoming someone’s cherished companion is all I need now. I wish I could tell you what it would be like if we lived together but I’m a stray, so I haven’t heard anyone talking about what I like, don’t like, do well, need to get better at doing, etc. What do you think about learning these things together? If you like the idea, and you know how to use the Internet (dog’s don’t you know),  please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” so we can at least say hello to each other.
