Hellos! I am the lovely Luna Leone, and I am eager to make a Pyr-awesome first impression! My foster mom has lots of good things to share with you about me. Here goes:
“Luna is curious, new to the indoors, strong, and a total lover and cuddler! When indoors, she is a ‘real’ couch potato and enjoys the AC! She is super sweet with visitors; all she wants are lots of pets!” (Who knew that inside living is better than the outside, especially on hot summer days!  Oh, one more thing, I hope my future family invites lots of guests over; the more cuddles, the better!)
“Luna knows ‘sit’ and does well with other dogs! She likes to go for walks! She needs help getting comfortable with a leash, but overall does quite well! (Sadly, I had to say goodbye to my Pyr-sister recently, so I would love to have other fur-family members.)
“Luna has been fine being left at home alone with my dog!” (Playdates with my foster fur-friend are pretty chill, we mostly try to outdo each other with how long we can sleep!)
“Luna does not have a schedule or a specific way to let me know she needs to go outside. However, she is learning the house training routine very quickly.” (Yep, Pyrs are smart. We only need a little time and patience to learn new routines.)
“Luna is such a wonderful, sweet Pyr. I think she will be great with someone with a backyard and invested in getting her to a healthy weight and spoiled with cuddles and indoor living.” (Aww, thank you!)
“Luna has not been unusually afraid of storms or fireworks. Of course, loud car noises startle her, but this is not unusual.” (I’m getting the hang of my new life, and it’s incredible! When will I get to meet my new family because I’m Pyr-ready for it!)
Pyrly yours, Luna

Boo! It’s Ghost Stuart here. Since my parents are having human pups now, they no longer have time for this growing boy! I hope to find a new family that will give me lots of love.
Here is my Pyr resume:
“Ghost is a friendly, active, obedient, and easy-going family dog.” (I am truly a wonderful boy that needs some long-overdue attention, exercise, and love.)
“Ghost spends most of his time tied outside, and nobody has time for him.” (It gets hard being lonely, and I need humans who will give me the time and affection I deserve!)
“Ghost can get in the garbage can when he is bored.” (With no means of entertainment, I have had to invent my games! It’s called: “how much can I pull out of the garbage before my owners notice?” With a secure garbage can and lots of exercise and playtime with my humans, I will have no problem with the garbage!)
I am looking forward to a fresh new start!
Your Pyrly good boy, Ghost Stuart

I am Moose. It is quite the name, right? My prior family told GPRA that they could not keep me any longer. So, I am fortunate and thankful that Rescues such as GPRA help a perfect boy like me find another family. You see, I am ready to join any loving home because I am house trained, friendly, and get along well with other dogs and cats. What’s not to love already, right? Did you know that most Great Pyrenees have a zen-calm demeanor? Yep, I am an easy-going boy, but do not let my chill attitude fool you because I am also fun and playful. So, a fenced-in backyard would make your Moose boy very happy because I love hanging outside with my family and watching over everything. Looking forward to lots of hugs and pets from my new family… Your good boy, Moose.

Yes, I know my name sounds like a famous kids’ rock group, but as far as I know, this girl can’t hold a microphone or play an instrument. In fact, I don’t know much other than I’m somewhere between three and five years old. The people at a place called “the shelter” say other dogs like me and I am good on a leash. Oh, they also called me a “nice, quiet dog.” If you please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below, then you can see just how nice I am!

Hey, if you adopt a dog named Snowy in August, maybe you can save on your air conditioning bill! And a 3.5-year-old, 99 lb. girl who loves couch snuggles can keep you warm in the winter, too. You’ll be my third family, all for reasons having nothing to do with me. See, I can be home alone for up to ten hours without any accidents and get along well with my cat and Chihuahua siblings. I know “sit” and “shake” and will look deep into your eyes to touch your soul. Or so my human mom says. Don’t I sound perfect? Well, I’m close for sure. If you can help me learn better leash manners so I’m not so protective when I see people, and teach me to leave the kitchen trash alone, then I might just be perfect! If you think you’re perfect for me, please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below.

My name sounds like it but I’m not from New Orleans and I don’t play the piano. But, at 3.5-years-old and 104 lbs. I’m sure I  could eat a basket of beignets before the saxophone solo! My GPRA driver—I needed a ride from Murray County—says I’m a real sweetie who loves car trips and apparently never wore a collar or walked on a leash. Apparently, I did my Pyr ancestors proud though when I sat down and refused to follow. And speaking of being a smart breed perfectly capable of making our own choices, I’ve decided I like most farm animals except calves and when other dogs are horsing around (I’m punny, too!), I prefer tossing wood. Yep, you read me right. If you need help moving the wood pile, I’m your guy. Maybe. If I’m in the mood. And no one’s offering to rub my ears or give me treats instead. We can do other stuff, too. I’ll make a list while you please email info@greatpyratlanta.com, click “Contact Us” or choose “Apply to Adopt” below so we can meet.

I hear it is good luck having the same numbers in your age as your weight! At least if you’re a 3.5-year-old, 135 lb. male Pyr looking for a new home. And even if it’s not true, I need some “happy” so I’m going to pretend it is. See, my dad crossed over the humans’ rainbow bridge and now my mom has the C-word. I don’t know how a combination of letters makes someone sick but that’s what I keep hearing. I’m do know, however, I’m grateful she had the right letters and words to ask GPRA to help find new people for me and different new people for my sister Georgia B. What kind of home do I need? Well, I’m exuberant and while I’m playful with dogs—met a couple of cats that were just fine with me—my foster family says that I’m as gentle as can be. I’m very gentlemanly in one way: just say “push” and I’ll open the door for you! My mom also crate-trained me but since I spend most of my time in a kennel run, I hope my new family will patiently teach me to potty outside and walk on a leash so I can spend all my time with them while they scratch my hears, rub my tummy, and feed me treats. In fact, we can start with the treat part as soon as you please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click “Apply to Adopt” below to meet me!

Yay, no more field work! I’m Samson N., I’m 3.5 years old, 108 lbs, and I am celebrating my first days as a non-working Pyr. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not lazy, I just prefer hanging out with people instead of goats, air conditioning instead of wind, and carpet to grass. For you dental purists, my teeth are in pretty good shape, too; only moderate tarter according to GPRA’s vet. I hope you’re impressed, it’s not easy holding a toothbrush with my giant Pyr paws. Just kidding, I can’t clean my teeth so that’s one more reason I’m need a loving, patient, experienced dog family to help me learn all about being the indoor dog I’ve always wanted to be. And if you’ve always wanted to be a big-dog person, please email info@greatpyratlanta.com or click the “Apply to Adopt” button below to find out if I’m your guy.

Hi, my name is Arno.  I am a sweet 3.5 year old Great Pyrenees that is a little underweight right now only being at 76 lbs.  As you can see my beautiful white coat is missing.  But do not worry, it will grow back quickly and more beautiful then ever before.  I am looking for a new family this holiday season to keep me and my belly warm.  I came into GPRA from a local shelter that knew I deserved a second chance.  I have been around new people who are showing me so much love that I just feel that I have to give it back ten folds.  I am good around other dogs that I have met and plan on being a best friend to my humans.  If you think you have the extra room in your heart and  home for me, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com.
