Hi! I’m Beethoven and I’m only 1 year old. Unfortunately my dad is getting older and his declining health is making it so difficult to take care of me. So I’m here looking for a new, loving home. More info coming soon…

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.

Hey there! I’m Barney, 1 year, 83 lb boy who shares a name with a famous purple dinosaur and a stone-age cartoon character. Since I’m definitely not purple, and I’ve never met a Flintsone, there’s probably no relation. And now that GPRA has lovingly rescued me from a shelter, I please need a family to help me get to know myself. Listening to other GPRA Pyrs, I think I’d like to try meeting other dogs, snacks, playing with people, regular meals, staying dry during the rain, and helping with anything happening in some room called the kitchen. My new friends tell me it is one of the best places ever, next to a loving and safe home of course. If you’d like to meet me, please email information@greatpyratlanta.com or click the “Apply to Adopt” button below.

Sweet is what I am, so Pudding is my name. I am about 1 year old and weigh 71 lbs. Everyone that meets me tells me how wonderful and sweet I am. I am a little nervous about loud noises and all of these busy streets and buildings. I have just never seen such things before! It will take some getting used to. I love to be near people and get rubs. I haven’t really had anyone snuggle and pet me and I am loving it! If you need a little sweetness in your life, give GPRA a shout at info@greatpyratlanta.com.

I’m Bear M, a 102 lb boy just under a year old. One day my mom was very sad and now I’m talking to you about a new place to live. It is upsetting leaving my first family but I know they love me because when they fell on very hard times, they called GPRA. I don’t know what “hard times” are but I do know basic commands and that I’m good with other dogs. I love car rides, the dog park, running, soon-to-be new friends (a.k.a., strangers), and children. I have heard humans call me “a family dog”, friendly, active, playful and easy going. It’s probably best to get to know me so you can decide for yourself if we’re a good match. If you want to try, please info@greatpyratlanta.com or click the “Apply to Adopt” button below.

Hey there, My name is Polly and I am around a year old and currently at 40 lbs.  My parents are believed to be possibly a Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever.   I was found along with my brother, Ellis, by some really great people who wanted to make sure we were safe.  They helped us get shelter, warm meals, and medical attention.  While we stayed at the shelter together just waiting for our family to come find us, we quickly lost hope that they would not come for us.  Then, when all hope was lost, our run door opened and we were meet with the biggest hugs and smiles from two amazing volunteer that took us on our freedom ride to GPRA.  Both of us have been given extra special attention from the Veterinary office and lots of love from volunteers.  We both have been placed in wonderful foster homes and I am settling in well.  I am doing good with my fosters other dog and cats and 2 legged children.  I love to give kisses and snuggle.  If you believe that I am going to be the missing piece in your family, contact GPRA today for more information on how to add me to your family.

Hey, My name is Ellis and I am around a year old and currently at 50 lbs.  My parents are believed to be possibly a Great Pyrenees and Golden Retriever.   I was found along with my sister, Polly, by some really great people who wanted to make sure we were safe.  They helped us get shelter, warm meals, and medical attention.  While we stayed at the shelter together just waiting for our family to come find us, we quickly lost hope that they would not come for us.  Then, when all hope was lost, our run door opened and we were meet with the biggest hugs and smiles from two amazing volunteers that took us on our freedom ride to GPRA.  Both of us have been given extra special attention from the Veterinary office and lots of love from volunteers.  We both have been placed in wonderful foster homes and I am settling in well.  I am doing great at my foster home.  She raves about how special I am and that I have been the best dog ever.  I know a few commands, have great house manners and just all around PYRFECT.  As much as I would love to be placed in a home with my sister, we both agree that we can have play dates in the future if we both find separate homes.  If you want more information about me, contact GPRA today.

Hi, I’m Hero, a 1 year old young boy who wants to be the hero of your house. I had a bad report card last semester in school and I failed some of my classes. With that, I am having to give up my dream of being LGD and settle for a life in the suburbs. How bad can that be? I did love being is school and loved learning but I know I will do best at being a companion dog for a family instead. I am learning everyday new tricks and manners with my new foster home and get along great with my fur siblings. I ride well in a car and love to have my ears scratched. If you think I would be the PYRfect buddy, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com for more information.
