There are a lot of famous Mikes in the world, but my foster dad says I’m pretty special! Just like the famous candy, Mike and Ike, I’m very sweet. My favorite way to spend the day is snuggling close to my foster family. Any flavor of Mike and Ike is going to be fruity and delicious, and, similarly, I’m good with most of my fuzzy brethren. Foster Papa tells me that I live up to the pyr nickname: gentle giant because I get along with both cats and dogs. Another famous Mike is Mike’s Hot Honey which is a spicy, sweet sauce. I’ve got two sides to my personality too: playful and chill. Playing with other dogs is so much fun, and I’d love to have a yard to bounce around in with another canine buddy! But, I am equally happy to relax in the backyard and watch the world go by. I’m a very easy-going dude! Mike’s Hot Honey also goes on just about anything: pizza, chicken, and even ice cream! This Mike is very adaptable too because I’m a good boy whether we’re in the house or around the neighborhood. At home, I’m basically housetrained; I haven’t had an accident to date! And, when I walk on a leash, I’m very calm and go at a steady pace. I may not have my own famous food brand…yet, but I’m already renowned as one of the good-est boys. Please consider taking me home because I have so much love to give!

Good morning, Sunshine! I’m Abner, and my name means “light.” I’ve been told I’m like a ray of sunshine because of my sweet and mellow personality. Right now, I’m like a sunrise, slowly warming up to all the humans I meet. I take time to learn about the people I interact with, and then I can start to trust them. My favorite way to get to know you is by sniffing. Instead of being sun-kissed, you’ll get little nose kisses from me! After a few sniffs, I’ll also take treats gently from you if you place them near me. Treat-giving and sniffing are great ways for us to start bonding. I know that once we develop a closeness, our relationship will be like walking on sunshine! One creature I’ve already learned to trust is my fellow canine. I’m good with other dogs, so it might be nice to have another dog to play with. Basically, I need a family who can be my guiding light, and I will give them all my love and loyalty in return. Help me let the sunshine in and consider adopting me today!

Howdy, ladies and gents! I’m mighty pleased to meet y’all! I’m Duke, and while I’m not one of the Dukes of Hazzard, I do like riding in a car. Just check out my pictures! In one of the photos, I’m sleeping like a baby. I used to live in the great outdoors, but I’m taking a shine to this indoor life of soft blankets and dog treats anytime I want ’em. I’d like nothing better than spending the day at home with my human and doggy companions. People and dogs are the butter to my biscuit! They love me too because I’m just so sweet. Sweet as banana pudding, you might even say. When you wanna throw a barbecue in the backyard, I’ll be there. Just make sure you’ve got a six-foot fence because I am a bit of an escape artist. The place I really want to be, though, is by your side. Will you take me home?

Hi, y’all! I’m Samson Evans, and I’m truly pleased to meet ya! I’m used to living the outdoor life, but I can’t wait to cozy up on a quilt and enjoy the great indoors. I’ve heard Southern hospitality is legendary! When you take me to the backyard to play some cornhole, I’ll need a six-foot fence to keep me safe because I am a bit of an escape artist. One thing us Southern pyr gents have down pat, though, is sweetness, and I’m as sweet as a slice of hummingbird cake! My kindly demeanor shows in how much I love my humans and other dogs. We get along like biscuits and gravy! I can’t wait for you to pick me up, and we can take this country road to my new home!

Hi, my name’s Luca Atlas, and I’m paws-itively pleased to meet you! My GPRA transporter says I’m very sweet. I guess that I live up to my name which means “bringer of light.” Let me brighten your day with all my hugs and love that I like to give. I’m a very affectionate pyr! My transporter says, I even tried to sit in his lap on our car ride, but when he told me, “no,” I listened very well. I’m a brilliant listener! I am just gleaming with good manners because I was a calm car rider too. I didn’t bark or react to anything as we drove along. I also got a glowing walking report. Mr. Transporter said that I walked well on the leash even though I wasn’t really sure what a leash was. Going to the play yard is always a bright spot in my day, and I, sometimes, try to jump up on the fence because I’m so excited to be in the sparkling autumn sun. My GPRA friends say I’ll need a 6 ft fenced-in backyard to make sure I stay safe. Something that would definitely put a sparkle in my eye is a playmate because I love to play! Another glittering aspect of my personality is that I love to be groomed! My GPRA walker friends groomed me for about an hour, and I just patiently sat while they made my coat nice and glossy. I radiate so much charm and good cheer that I know I will be a spot of sunshine for any family who adopts me. Could it be you?

Hi, there, I’m Pongo! My name starts with the letter P, so, naturally, it’s my favorite letter! My foster mom says I’m sweet as Pie. Who doesn’t love pie? It’s warm and cozy, and that’s how I will make you feel when I snuggle up to you! My foster mom especially noted that when I’m with kids, it’s a Piece of cake because I love them so much. I don’t eat cake, but playing with some little human siblings would be fun! Foster Mama also says I’m just Peachy with other dogs. Peaches are soft and fuzzy, and I love all soft and fuzzy creatures, even cats! Outside of the house, I am very good on the leash. You might say I walk as smooth as mashed Potatoes. In the backyard, I do need a tall, privacy fence, though, because I can be an escape artist like a jumping Pinto bean and hop over a shorter fence. One thing I do great in the backyard, though, is go Potty! Foster mom says I’m almost all the way house-trained. If we need to take a ride, I am the good-est Pumpkin you ever did see in the car. And, if we’re going to the groomer, don’t worry, the Pear, I mean pair, of us will get along fine because I love being brushed! I’m one cute, goofy Peanut whose ready to come home with you. I promise, whether it’s my human family or my furry friends, we’ll all get along like Peas in a Pod!

Hello, Friends! My name is Henry Polar, and I’m looking for my new loving family! I was found wandering by myself in southern Georgia, and GPRA has taken me in. Boy, do I love it here with my foster family! I was nervous at first but quickly settled in. I love to stay by their side, and I give them kisses too. Mom says that I don’t mind if my foster parents touch me or my bowl while I’m eating because I’m such a good boy! While I am new to leash walking, my foster mama says I don’t pull on it too much. I’m also starting to learn basic commands like down and sit, but I will need training. Don’t worry, though; I’m eager to please. I’ve seen lots of dogs and cats on my walks, and I am interested to meet them. I don’t even mind if dogs bark a lot at me; they’re just saying hello. My foster dad says that I’m his favorite foster dog that they’ve ever had! That makes me happy because I love to be with him too! Maybe, I’m the missing piece for your family! Please apply to adopt me!

Howdy, pyr partners! I’m Juniper Joy, and I’m plumb excited to meet you! Back home on the range, I get along just fine with my foster doggy siblings AND my human siblings. Those little buckaroos, I think y’all call ’em kiddos, are just so darn fun to play with! Playing out in the prairie, or the yard, is a hoot, but I like to play inside too. I love to wrangle with a good chew toy! When we need to go into town, just grab your ten-gallon hat and a leash. I’m still figuring out how to walk like a proper gentleman, but I’m back in the saddle and ready to learn! My foster mama reckons that I’m very trainable because I take direction so well. After we’re back at the lodge, or house, I’m just a chill, sweet lap dog ready to cozy up next to my family. This cowboy is ready to gitty-up on home and be the best doggy boy y’all ever did see!

Hello folks,
Hurricane, here! I am definitely feeling a rise in barometric pressure because my life is starting to look brighter! I was a stray wandering in all types of weather until GPRA took me in. Now, I’m looking forward to walkin’ on sunshine with a new family by my side (although – cloudy with a chance of some yummy meatballs from time to time would be a welcome treat). If it’s raining dogs and more dogs, that’s great because I love to play and hang out with them. Kids are always the right climate, though; I love them! Sometimes, I’m like a jet stream and jump up from excitement when I see kiddos or new people, but Foster Mama says I’m a people-pleaser and very trainable. I’ve already been getting really good at the command: sit! One thing to keep on your doppler radar is that I do like to chew. As long as I’m kept exercised, though, rain or shine, I’m content. When it comes to walking on the leash, you could say I’ll need someone to help channel my directional force. My leash-walking is mostly smooth sailing, but when I see people, I want to meet them and veer towards them. I know that with my sunny and easy breezy personality, together we will have nothing but clear skies ahead! I can’t wait to meet you!
