Hello. My name is Greta Garbo.
I like to explore – and was found wandering quite a distance from my home.
Like my namesake, I am a bit mysterious; in other words, my rescuers don’t know much about me. I like to play with other dogs, and am okay around cats. I am friendly with people.
I am currently reviewing the script: “Walk Nicely on a Leash.” I am seeking a good director to coach me to be my best as the star in this role. I would also like to begin production of my autobiography: “A Warm Home: The Transformation of a Lonely Pyr into a Loving Family Member.”
I know with your help, I will give a star performance!
Please contact my agent – I am happy to give an audition.

Hi, I’m Eeyore! Just like my lovable donkey namesake, I’ve been described as a sweetheart! I come from the mountains of North Georgia, so I’m used to wandering and will need to practice with walking on the leash. While I’m new to this city life, loving humans and taking direction from them comes easy to me. Getting lots of pets is my favorite! Just like the friends on Winnie-the-Pooh, I get along well with humans and other dogs too. I’ve come around the mountain, and now I’d love to meet you and come home as a part of your family.

Hi, I am the sweet girl, Skye Sundance!

How I ended up in a shelter is unknown and a sad reality for too many dogs. But, I am one of the lucky ones. Thank you, GPRA!

Recently, I have been living in the most Pyr-fabulous foster home. My foster family is getting me ready for Adoption Day and my fur-ever!
Here is what GPRA knows about me.

“Skye is a cuddler, very curious, playful, and a talker.” (Yep, I try to interact with my humans. If only dogs could talk, right?)”Skye loves to play with her stuffed animals. She will toss them in the air and catch them.” (I love to play games. Would you like to play toss with my favorite stuffed animal and me?)

“Although she sometimes pulls, Skye does very well on the leash. She is quite the lady when meeting other dogs.”
“Housetraining is still a work in progress with Skye, but she’s getting better every day. (Thank you for being patient with me. I will get it all figured out very soon.)
“What I love most about Skye is that she is a velcro Pyr. She loves, loves, loves to be near her humans. If you allow her, she will try to crawl in your lap, too. She is a big baby and will soak up loving attention.”
“Being outside makes Skye very happy. She will thrive in her own backyard. When outside, Skye will sit quietly and gaze up at the sky while her head follows every sound she hears. I think this might be why her name is Skye. She is adorable to watch.” (Why, thank you. Sky gazing is better when shared, so please join me!)

Your Pyr-sweet thing, Skye Sundance

Hi y’all, I am a super handsome boy named Apollo. I am still a pup at about 1.5 yrs old and 67 lbs. It took me a while to find me way to GPRA,  but a kind woman knew I was being surrendered to a shelter and immediately scooped me up to foster until GPRA had room to bring me in. At my foster home,  I am learning what it is like being in a loving home. I have learned that I like comfy beds and I am willing to share them. I am a little shy at first and just getting to meet lots of new friends….human and furry. I have met some dogs that I really liked and a couple of those “meowers”. They didn’t really want to play with me, but I think they looked like fun. I really like it when my people are around a lot. If I sound like the PYRfect fit, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com.

Woof! Hi! I’m Bella B! I am one great big beautiful girl, that’s what they tell me. I am 1.5 years old and 103 lbs. I had a nice life living in the mountains with my human mom but she got sick. She couldn’t take care of me and she knew what she needed to do…contact GPRA. I thought it was a great idea. See me smiling in my pictures? I am still working on my house manners and do pretty well. I didn’t have a lot of experiences other than hanging out with my human family so I am working on getting used to new people and surroundings. I had a little human that I just loved and that laid on top of me and cuddled. I sure hope I can find a family that will help me learn new things and make me theirs forever. Hit that button down there to contact GPRA to adopt me or to find out more! Email them at info@greatpyratlanta.com

My name is Zeus.  I am around 1 ½ years old and pretty underweight for my size.  I am new to GPRA because the family that had me before was not able to care for me properly and knew that I needed help to be happier and healthier.  I have an amazing foster family that is helping me learn to trust again and be part of a pack.  I have 2 large PYR siblings that are helping me understand what it is like to be in a home where I am the center of attention.  I am learning basic commands and walking wonderful on a leash.  I have met new doggies and kitties and believe that I will do great in a home where I have fur siblings to keep me company.  My foster mommy and Daddy really think I am special and have promised me they will do what it takes to make me whole again.  If you want to learn more about me, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com.

Hi, my name is Beatrix.  I am a young comely lady around 1.5 years old.  I found my way to GPRA through a shelter where no one came to claim me.   I am still a little confused as to why no one wanted me as I am a very sweet and loving girl.  I have meet some other dogs in my journey and I think I am making friends.  I am learning what it is like to live with a roof over my head and have people telling me how wonderful I am.  I am a little nervous with that leash thing but I am sure with some coaching, I will get the hang of it and we can start enjoying our daily walks.  I am on the smaller side so I think with some good cooked meals and some TLC, I will be back to a healthy weight and be just about PYRfect soon.  To learn more about me, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com today.

Hey there, I am Liam.  I am a gorgeous young boy approximately 1.5-2 yrs old who came to GPRA with serious injuries to my back-end area. Thanks to my hero, a Policeman in Rome, GA who found me on the side of the road and contacted a group of people who helped me get to this rescue group with the hopes of a second chance.  After my emergency surgery, I was sent to a experienced foster home where I am getting my daily therapy and gaining my strength back everyday.  I love getting attention from humans and cannot wait to get back to normal activity of taking long walks and enjoying a cool evening on the deck watching the sun set.  I am searching for my forever home where I can be a part of family.  I want to be that special boy that you come home to at night and just make your day even better.  If you think I can be that for you, contact GPRA today at info@greatpyratlanta.com.
