Hi, I am Vivian. My story is one of motherhood, compassion, and survival. My backstory is that I lived with my puppies’ daddy and eight puppies (one died) under a shed near a church. The church community took care of me for two years and gave me a kids swimming pool when my pups were born. Ten days after my puppies were born, I was hit by a car and ran away, returning to check on my puppies a few hours later. (I tried to be a good Momma dog to all of my puppies.) Compassionate humans stepped in to help, and within a short time, my pups and I were transported into GPRA’s exceptional care. (It was nothing short of a miracle that someone contacted GPRA, and the Rescue immediately responded.)
Several months later, all of my puppies are adopted. Now, it is my turn to find my forever home. I am with a fabulous foster mom and foster Pyr-brother. My foster mom says that I am a “total sweetheart” and will do best with a canine companion and a human who works from home. My foster mom also tells me that I am beautiful! (Aww… thank you.) I have been a polite house guest, am house-trained, and sleep through the night on the dog sofa downstairs. (I’m terrified of crates, so none of those, please.) But, ultimately, I need a family who is home more than not. Will you be my home companion?
Pyrly loving, Vivian

Donate to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Atlanta

Our main mission at GPRA is to find the right permanent home for Great Pyrenees in distress, whether they are strays or from an overpopulated kill or no-kill shelter. We don’t care how old they are or what their medical condition is because we will make sure they receive a comprehensive medical evaluation, spaying or neutering, and even behavioral training if necessary.
